Patti passes Celebration Central and catches the band in rehearsal…..

At 6pm we met up with Pat & Jim and went to Bonsai Sushi for dinner again. Afterwards, we went to Celebration Central for tonight’s show. We knew that The Most Magnificent Circus had been cancelled again, so they replaced it with a Latin Music Revue. The music and singing were very good…..

At the end they added some aerialists which made no sense, but they were enjoyable to watch……

After the show we met up with some of the gang at Latitudes…..

After a few more drinks we decided to call it a night.

Here is today’s Cheers tally: Patti (5) & Jeff (15). Yep, I maxed out and I “may” have helped Patti out a bit. That made us (+8) for the day, so after four days we are back to even! Patti’s strategy of keeping me on the ship worked like a charm!

Coming up next: It’s a beachy kind of day in St. Thomas!

Seriously, in San Juan I love hiking along the fort area on the edge of the coastline just to see the kitty “sanctuary.” I’ll be doing it again in April!

Day # 5 - (January 18th) - St. Thomas - (7am – 4pm).

We were up at 6am just as the Carnival Celebration was approaching St. Thomas. It’s going to be a warm and sunny day. Here are the views from our balcony…..

It’s a little before 7am. Welcome to St. Thomas!

Our plan today is to meet Pat & Jim by Java Blue at 7:45am, get off the ship, and then grab a cab to Coki Beach. Patti’s a little hungry so she heads to the Marketplace for some breakfast. I grab a coffee from Bar 820 and head back to the cabin. As I flip through the camera channel on the television, I see that the towel animal invasion is taking place by the Beach Pool, so I grab the camera and head up to document it…..

Looking over at the pier I see Pier 22. Before Covid this used to be a Senor Frog’s…..

We meet up with Pat & Jim and within minutes we are off the ship and at the Taxi Stand. The fare to Coki Beach is $14 /pp…..

We are loaded into a safari truck that holds 25 people, and soon we are leaving Havensight Mall and the Celebration behind…..

A short distance later we pass the Skyride to Paradise Point…..

The roads to Coki Beach are steep and twisty…..

Pat & Jim are holding on for their lives!

Twenty minutes later we have arrived at Coki Beach…..

We go down the beach to the left, and all the way down to the end. It is much less crowded down here. We get set up with four beach chairs under a tree ($5 each), and meet our server Michelle. We order a bucket of Caribe beer, and Bushwackers for the ladies.

I head into the water and it’s a tad chilly, meaning Pat won’t be getting in. But I’m a northern guy so it’s fine for me……
