Hi all,

out of interest, does anyone of you knows which champagne is offered as a welcome bottle in the stateroom ?

many thanks in advance !

In our PH stateroom it was Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut.

Do you think there would be a difference between PH and concierge?

That is on the by the glass menu. Pretty drinkable.

We had the Heidsieck last summer on Nautica. I don't drink alcohol but my companion in life said it was very drinkable. And when I checked retail prices at home, it  was certainly a lot more than we'd usually pay for a bottle of champagne. So, quite an upmarket offering.

Definitely...

On our Australian cruise  our trivia team got together for dinner one night.  3 different cabin categories...3 different bubbles.  We had Concierge Veranda, penthouse and owners suite.

Don’t remember what brand it was on our recent Vista cruise, (PH) but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Piper Heidseick.  We didn’t drink it.

We did get a bottle of Verve Cliquot as it was our 20th, and we did drink that in Polo.

Was your 20th bottle marked in a way for you to not pay the $25 corkage fee?

Piper-Heidsieck is a different producer than Heidsieck Monopole, but they were related a few centuries back.

We received a bottle of Veuve Cliquot for our 20th as well.  We took it to a specialty -- no corkage was charged.  We also tend to take the included bottle of Heidsieck  Monopole to either the GDR or a specialty.  We've never been charged a corkage in those instances either.

Thanks for the info.
