I have never found that any room service dinner comes to the cabin at the proper temperature nor is there any “real” table to eat nice food from in the cabin.

Our food was delivered quickly and hot. Coffee table worked just fine. We're low maintenance people and rarely eat in the MDR. Enjoying our aft balcony view is just fine with us.

I have seen people relaxing in a lounge like Take 5 and having their food delivered there. I think maybe that is part of the allure — a time or place you would eat that is a departure from real life. I think picnics and camping are a less than ideal way to eat, but the adventure is worth the trade off sometimes.

Obviously, your mileage may vary.

I’m simultaneously happy for you and jealous of you. The view and the relaxation. Yes please!

(It’s snowing and cold while I work today. I leave for relaxation on Princess and warmer weather in 2 short — but long feeling — weeks.)

I was referring to the lobster tail.

Oh, indeed. 😄

For comparison - this was the included "Land and Sea" Surf & Turf on the same cruise (British isles):

Nearly same size lobster, yes.

The 19$ upcharge CG filet mignon in MDR, Regal Princess.

Way better than the included NY strip steak.

Nota very good looking Filet Mignon. The Lobster tail is likely prepped on shore, frozen & heated on board. Looks like one of the Sysco variety I see frequently.

I ordered the Crown Grill steak in the Main Dining Room on the Enchanted in December 2023 and it was of very good quality, just like that in the Crown Grill. I was told up front it would take an extra 1/2 hour, which it did. I'm pretty sure the extra time was the fact it actually came from that specialty restaurant. Was it cooked in the MDR? I'm not sure, but I assumed it was not.
