Hotel in Fort Lauderdale -suggestions?

Just looking for something for 2 nights  before our April cruise. Been a while since we've been in FLL. I've used Hotwire in the past , with usually good results.

Any hot deals floating around for April, 3.5+ hotel will do. In the Port area, or in the nearby beach area? where / how to book? Thanks!

There are 1000 threads here on hotels.

What is your price point?

price point?

well, what I'd like, & what's realistic, are two different things! lol

what would $200-300 get me these days?

(yes, lots of hotel threads, but most dont seem to deal with current pricing...)

Specific dates are needed to make a comparison since prices can vary wildly given any special events like the Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale from April 5 - 7.  Prices will also vary depending upon when the reservations were made so what someone is paying for a room booked months ago can be less than what the hotel is charging for a reservation in 2 months.

You might check ValueTrips (www.valuetrips.com) for prices at the Hyatt Place Cruise Port near 17th Street.  Both the hotel and booking through ValueTrips have very good reviews here.

You could also check out the big 3rd party booking sites (booking.com, tripadvisor, etc.).

2 nights

check-in Apr.5

check-out Apr.7

That is during the Tortuga Music Festival which sells upwards to 100,000 tickets (of course some are locals).  Hotels in Fort Lauderdale (the festival is held on the beach) will sell out at top dollar.  Try Dania Beach which is just south of Fort Lauderdale.

We've been staying around Port Everglades pre-cruise for years, and have three main areas we stay in, depending on time of year. The 17th St strip is by far the easiest and closest to the port, but in high season, the prices can be eye-wateringly expensive. When 17th is out of range, our next option would be Dania Beach, but that too can be expensive at certain times as well, though not as bad as the 17th St area. A third option, only occasionally discussed here on CC, is Plantation. It's farther out than the other two, which probably explains why hotel prices aren't nearly as variable as the other two areas. At peak times, we've found that Plantation hotels can literally be half the price of the closer hotels. Plantation has more than  enough hotels and restaurants to choose from, and is close to the massive Sawgrass mall. The only real downside, more than offset by the lower or more stable hotel prices, is its distance from the airport and PE, requiring a longer taxi/Uber ride.
