Anthem Now Diverting to Port Canaveral

Good morning,

 

On the 3/17/24 Anthem sailing right now.  On our way back to Port Liberty this morning, we headed towards PC for a medical emergency evacuation.  Pilot vessel zoomed over to the ship.  Meanwhile, schools of dolphins and flocks of pelicans visible as we approach the port.  I very much hope the passenger will be OK.

 

EDIT: Coast Guard vessel now on starboard side to offload the passenger.

🙏 Saw dolphins from the Solarium off the North Florida coast on our Anthem February 9th sail.

Never a pleasant experience and certainly hope all is OK with the passenger.

 

Have seen dolphins as well on that return leg in the past.

Hope the affected passenger is recovering.  

 

Port Canaveral is a haven for dolphins and pelicans.  Love sailing from there.

We saw two bald eagles in Jan in PC after we boarded Wonder.  They flew right past the Solarium while we were sitting there.

 

As for medical evac, I'd rather be in FL than most of the islands for care.

No, it's unfortunate that it seems like every time we dock in PC there are a couple of ambulances waiting for us.  On one cruise we diverted to PC for a med evac, then on our scheduled port day in PC, we had more med evacs.

 

I guess you could say it's fortunate that they are able to evacuate in the US vs a foreign country.

Fortunate that a potentially life threatening condition can be moderated by a med evac.  I believe that the other passengers would not begrudge them for it.
