Does every room get a royal blanket in Alaska?

This is what I am asking about.  So the questions are.

Anyone have 1 in the room?

Anyone get 1 to use upon request?

Or did they have to buy it?

We have been on 6 Alaska cruises in the last 2 years and haven’t received one.  If we wanted one, we had to purchase them.

For what it's worth, the one you can buy with the polar bear on it is really really nice and super warm. It went on sale prior to my Alaska cruise last May and we got it for like 20$ and having read prior how big it was planned accordingly and brought one of the space saver bags where you squish the air out to make it more compact to get it home easily

That's the plan.

No, not on the Quantum last summer.   ...and not only that, but we had preordered the winter blanket (from the gifts section of the cruise planner)  and they were out of those too. That was a bummer because they were going to be a nice surprise gifts for quite a few of our group of 14.

Alaska gift shops have tons of blankets for sale (go in September for best prices).  Note that these are not super heavy, just two layer fleece that are similar to ones we have gotten on casino giveaways.  We do use them a lot, though.
