We are presently in Yokohama for a few days before boarding the Millennium for a B2B. For the March 28 cruise we will be embarking using the Daikoku Pier but will disembark at the Osanbashi Pier on April 9.  For the April 9 cruise we will be using Osanbsahi to also disembark.  Celebrity sent out an express notification for clarification.  We were also B2B on the Millennium in 2018 and only used the Osanbashi Pier.  Pay attention to your e-docs.p

There are actually 4 different cruise piers used by international cruise ships calling at Tokyo / Yokohama.

1. Harumi Terminal. Located at the Olympic Village in downtown Tokyo. This is the most convenient pier, but can only handle ships small enough to fit under the Rainbow Bridge.

2. New Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. Located next to Haneda Airport, just North of Yokohama. This is the largest and newest Terminal in the Tokyo area. It handles cruise ships too large to fit under the Rainbow Bridge into Tokyo Bay.

3. Daikoku Cargo Pier. This is the least convenient cruise pier, located on an artificial island in Yokohama Bay. It is used by ships that are too large to fit under the Yokohama Bay Bridge, or when Osanbashi Terminal in Yokohama is full.

4. Osanbashi Terminal in Yokohama. The main downtown terminal in Yokohama.

 

Why so many terminals? Japan is an island nation, with frequent ship visits.

Tokyo also has Hinode Cruise Terminal. But Oi and Hinode are used primarily for river and bay cruises.

@monkey@cruise you are correct we were onboard Oceania Riviera last month and embarked/disembarked at Shinko Pier Cruise Terminal, 2 Chome-5-1 Shinko Naka Ward, Yokohama.

Yokohama Port authority only released cruise ship schedule till September. But more likely will be at Daikoku Wharf (Spectrum of the Seas will dock there on 19th September)

Option 1: Taxi from Daikoku Pier to Yokohama City Air Terminal (YCAT), then Keikyu Airport Bus to Haneda Airport.

Option 2: Yokohama City more likely will run a free shuttle service on embarkation day from Daikoku Pier to Yamashita-futo [Yamashita Pier]. 
a) Walk 1000 feet to Yamashita Park or Yokohama doll Museum Keikyu Airport Bus stop, take the Keikyu Airport Bus to Haneda Airport.

Also on Quantum of the Seas, disembarking on Oct 15. I know this couldn't be more bad tourist, but any ideas on best way to Tokyo Disney Resort. I kind of assume a transfer to one of the major airports and then the limo/bus shuttle to the Resort.

Or you can take just about any train from Yokohama Station to Tokyo Station, then take the Maihama line directly to Tokyo Disney. The trains run very frequently. Takes about an hour. Cost is less than US$10.

Only JR Ueno Tokyo Line takes you from Yokohama station to Tokyo Station without transfer Rome2Rio doesn't provide travel details.! Use Google Map.

 

Maihama is a train station name not a train line name. The Line is Keiyo Line.

 

Reasons why I seldom recommend using train to Disney:

1. Tokyo transit isn’t optimized for carrying a lot of stuff, avoid bringing large suitcase inside the subway or a commuter train during rush hours (roughly 7:30 to 9:30, depending on the lines). It would be a gigantic inconvenience for self and others.

2. Tokyo Station was really crowded and the Keiyo Line platform (to Disney) is too far and further underground from Tokyo Station. it can be quite inconvenient to transfer.

3. If you are not staying at a Disney hotel, need taxi ride to non-Disney hotels after exit Maihama Station.

4. Airport bus stop at most Disney area hotel main entrance.

In Japan, it is very common for folks (both Japanese and tourists) to simply ship their luggage ahead to their next destination (i.e. hotel, resort, etc).  In many cases your luggage will arrive the following day.  I am not sure of the closest shipping point to the various cruise terminals, but it can generally be done at most convenience stores (i.e. 7-11 and Lawsons).   I am thinking that if going to Disney after a cruise, one could have their luggage shipped to the hotel and just take the train with carry-on stuff.  We have previously posted that the cost of shipping is very reasonable.  Last year, we shipped two large suitcases (about 50 pounds per bag) from our Tokyo Hotel to our Kyoto Hotel, and the total cost was about $50.

If you see the previous postings, first timer to Japan and will disembark at Daikoku Pier to Disney. The easiest way for them is taxi to Yokohama Station East Exit Bus Terminal (the taxi stand is on SOGO Bldg.  B/F), and take the highway bus to Disney Resort (Bus terminal is on SOGO Bldg.1/F)

If you can disembark early and able to take a taxi from Daikoku Pier to  Yokohama Station East Exit Bus Terminal (20 min, 6000 yen fare) before 10am, you can catch a highway bus from Yokohama to Disney Resort, bus fare is 1,500 yen . See post #23.
