Overnight alternative/Boston

Flying into Boston on a Friday and boarding a cruise ship on Saturday.

Any creative ideas how to lower the high cost of staying in Boston 

proper for that one night by staying outside of the city.  Appreciate

any thoughts.

Take a look at the Marriott Boston Quincy. Its nothing fancy but it is a full service hotel in a nice enough office park that is about a $25 Uber ride each way to Boston if you wanted to sightsee. Rates can be in the $150-200 range if you have AAA or a corporate discount.

Have you looked at the airport Hilton, Embassy Suites, or La Quinta in Somerville.?

Chelsea hotels are often cheaper and many have airport shuttles.  Not many attractions right there, but you are close to public transit
