One had a pretty serious "rocking" motion soyou had to be careful to always step on one side or the other. The other truck was pretty stable. Thanks. This is exactly what I would call a safety issue for anybody getting older, having bad knees, and refusing to do anything that increases the risk of winding up in a foreign hospital (or any hospital) with a broken hip, etc.
dexddd Posted April 14 #52 Share Posted April 14 Sounds like things are going well. We sailed there years ago on Paul Gauguin, great trip. Maybe same port. We arrived on bus, they asked some questions, went to a lounge, then called up to check in. We did have to wait a bit out in open air area so if bad weather could be an issue. Provisioning could be an issue there.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted April 14 Author #53 Share Posted April 14 (edited) Recap so far: Day 1 - Papeete Day 2 - Raiatea Day 3 - Bora Bora Day 4 - Mooreaa Today is Day 5, first of 4 sea days. Looking forward to some downtime. I *really* like sea days, DW only somewhat. I'm anxious to get a chance to explore the ship. We keep getting "lost" trying to get to various spots on the ship...not because we don't know where we want to go but because we seem to always have to go up or down a deck just to get to the front or back of the ship on the current deck. We ate at Onda last night (Italian). All 6 of our party agreed that it was very good. We'll be doing Cagney's and Teppenyaki within a few days. I was a little surprised at how small Onda was, being tucked away at the very back of the ship on deck 12. It's long & "skinny" but it certainly did not diminish the quality of the food! The decor was very nice. Lots of good service. Edited April 14 by Rick&Jeannie

Yes, we just received the special laundry bag/coupon last night. Probably could have waited a day for the batch we just sent out but we didn't know for sure when we would get it!
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted April 14 Author #55 Share Posted April 14 Internet seems to have slowed down a bit....I'm going to try to upload some pictures. This is Karen, our tour guide/driver for our Moorea 4x4 "Adventure". She was somewhat on the petite side but she really manhandled that little 4WD truck!.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted April 14 Author #56 Share Posted April 14 This was the parking area at the Belvedere overlook. Imagine trying to turn a bus around with *another* bus parked beside you and close to a dozen other smaller cars and trucks! Apparently nobody arranged a CC Meet & Greet and with this being only our 3rd NCL cruise I did not feel "qualified". Perhaps there was one...but it was not publicized on our roll call. Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted April 14 Author #65 Share Posted April 14 Not overly impressed with the casino. Almost half the overall space is taken up with table games, of which maybe only 2 or 3 are active. Plus, having a fee added to your on board account when you charge to your room just rubs me the wrong way. We don't bring that much cash when we cruise, so I was surprised by this. They're going to get it all anyway! 😄 20240413_203955.mp4
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted April 15 Author #66 Share Posted April 15 When it comes to a salad, it really takes a lot to make an impression on me. This is one of the "starters" at Onda...simply called the "Market Salad". I wasn't expecting more than just your basic salad to start off a good Italian meal. Wow! This salad was superb! All of our group that had it agreed. I guess a lot of the "wow" came from the dressing. They called it a "champagne vinaigrette". We're going to have to try and find some of this at our local store when we get home.

Thanks for this. I've googled the five musicians/groups that you posted earlier. I'm pretty sure I'll find several to follow around. I like the variety. Sounds like piano man/pianist/classic guitar/rock-type group and that duo. I was able to find some youtube clips of several. Please keep us posted on what you think about any that you attend. Thanks.
