Tipping Canadian Taxi Drivers

Recommended Posts

Some cabbies will even happily take USD cash as payment (at a not-even-close-to-Interbank rate!), but since you will literally be prompted to tip on the handheld unit the driver gives you to pay by credit card simply add on your preferred amount when prompted instead of also pfaffing around with notes as well as your card.

Are Capital One credit cards accepted in Canada, particularly in cabs?  That might be the better question; best find out before you try and use it.

Capital One is just the name of a bank. Their credit cards are either Visa or Mastercard branded so they're no different than any other Visa or Mastercard issued by any other US-based bank and are accepted anywhere in the world where Visa or Mastercard are accepted.

I suspect the OP wants to use a Capital One card because many if  not all of their cards don't charge a foreign transaction fee.
