    • If you used a Future Cruise Credit on this sailing, and you request a refund instead, we’ll refund any NEW funds paid above the certificate amount and we’ll issue a new certificate.

That sucks!

I Google searched your sail dates, and it looks like you got bumped for the Atlantis Cruise group. Now I wish I had used Incognito mode.

Probably the same group created a week long charter. I'm sure it's annoying to those with bookings.

How do they price protect cabin categories when O class ships have categories that don't exist on F class ships?

It also seems there must be a lot of available cabins if they can absorb an O class cancellation on those three cruises. I guess anyone who was looking at those replacement cruises will either be out of luck or will be paying a lot more for what little inventory will be left.

Typically for short cruises the vast majority of cabins are sold around 6 months to sail date so the 2 dates were probably not heavily booked on either the Allure or the other ships given as an option

I thought it was bad when our April 26 3 day Allure cruise was chartered. At least I was able to switch to the 3 day following the 4 day that was meant to be the 2nd leg of our Allure B2B and even keep the same room.

@sandebeach, I hope you’re able to find options that will work for you.

That sucks, I wish they'd offer more than $50 for making you completely change your vacation plans (I know it says they'll cover some flight money too- but I think just inconvenience wise, it's worth a little more than 50 bucks)

I agree, is this typical compensation? I’ve never experienced this type of cancellation, but have seen it on here a few times. I thought Option 3, Canceling, usually included a little FCC.
Maybe I’m thinking of when they need to bump a few guests due to overbooking.

So sorry you have to switch your plans.

Actually, this is the first chartered cruise that I have seen compensation for since Covid.  My guess is that it is because it is less than a years notice is why they offered it.

Prior to Covid this was standard compensation for short cruises.  Week long sailings were more.

My 8 night Harmony sailing for Feb. 2023 was charted by this same group.  I had only booked the room about 2 weeks prior with a Next Cruise certificate.  We were given pretty much the same options.  Here is the text of that old email.

We’re reaching out to let you know that, regrettably, we have to cancel our February 4th, 2023 Harmony of the Seas sailing, as it has been chartered.

We know how much time and effort go into planning your cruise, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. Every aspect of your time with us should be enjoyable, so we’ve put together some alternate options that we hope will work for you.

Option 1: Re-book one of the following 2023 itineraries:

  • 7-Night Eastern Caribbean & Perfect Day cruise onboard Symphony of the Seas sailing to Philipsburg, St. Maarten | Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas | and Perfect Day at CocoCay on January 7th, January 14th, January 28th, or February 4th
  • 7-Night Western Caribbean & Perfect Day cruise onboard Symphony of the Seas sailing to Costa Maya, Mexico | Roatan, Honduras | Cozumel, Mexico | and Perfect Day at CocoCay on January 21st or February 11th
  • 8-Night Southern Caribbean cruise onboard Harmony of the Seas sailing to Labadee, Haiti | Oranjestad, Aruba | and Willemstad, Curacao on January 7th or February 18th
  • 8-Night Eastern Caribbean cruise onboard Harmony of the Seas sailing to Labadee, Haiti | San Juan, Puerto Rico | Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas | Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic | and Nassau, Bahamas on January 21st

What you’ll receive:

  • Your original stateroom category price will either be protected at your original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items.
    • If your booking was already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we’ll provide you with a refund for the difference. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment within 30 business days after we move you. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution.
  • To sweeten the offer, you’ll receive a credit to spend onboard per stateroom:
    • $100 USD for Interior, Ocean View, and Balcony staterooms | $200 USD for Suites
    • Plus, an additional $50 USD for each third or more guest to spend onboard.
  • And, you’ll also be reimbursed for non-refundable, pre-purchased transportation change fees incurred (such as a flight, train ticket, or rental car).
    • We’ll cover up to $200 USD per guest for Domestic changes, or up to $400 USD per guest for International changes.
    • Please email your receipts and booking information to RoyalGuestRelations@rccl.com for review and reimbursement.

Option 2: Re-book any other Royal Caribbean International sailing

  • If you prefer to re-book another sailing not included in Option 1, we’ll waive any non-refundable deposit change fees.
  • Please know, you’ll be responsible for any difference in pricing for your cruise fare, taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items.
    • If your booking was already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we’ll provide you with a refund for the difference. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment within 30 business days after we move you. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution.

Option 3: If you can’t find a new itinerary that works for you and choose to cancel, we’ll be sad to see you go. You’ll receive:

  • A full refund of any paid portion of your cruise fare (including non-refundable deposits) and any pre-paid amenities to the original form of payment, within 30 business days.
    • If you used a Future Cruise Credit on this sailing, and you request a refund instead, we’ll refund any NEW funds paid above the certificate amount, and we’ll reinstate your original certificate.
  • If you booked your airfare through Royal Caribbean International, it will be automatically refunded to you. However, if you booked on your own, please contact the service provider directly for your options with them.
  • Please note, if you choose this option, we will not provide additional compensation.

It’s important to us that you find the best cruise option. Please call us at 888-281-9344 or contact your Travel Advisor by May 5th, 2022 to let us know your decision. And please know, hold times may be longer than usual. If you decide to go with option 3, there’s no need to call us. If we haven’t heard from you by May 5th, 2022, your reservation will be cancelled.

To clarify, this is the first time since Covid where I have seen them offer OBC for Option 2 where you can choose any date

Wow our 2/4/23 Harmony cruise was chartered by this same group, less than a year before sailing, forcing us onto another cruise ship.  They must have endless funds.
