I thought service charge was 15%

Service charge is but this is the Spanish cruise ship tax which is in addition to the service charge

The post I was responding to specifically said 11% service charge as well as Spanish tax. I think it is worse than that.

Made it to “Alto do Principe” on the Cies Island Nature Reserve!

Good tour, unfortunately only I could attend given there was not enough space (my partner has gone on another tour instead) - however, that did make it more frustrating when 2 passengers failed to show up.

Otherwise, nice day today. Sunny with a bit of a breeze.

Some pictures I managed to take of Queen Anne in port after returning back from the tour. Lots of things around so hard to take good pictures, at least in my case.

Back onboard now to do a little work (with a drink of course) before an early dinner and Formula 1 this evening.

Do they really expect you to work on Sunday?

I'm self-employed, so can work when I want for how long I want (as long as it gets done, anyway) - in this case we're working on a new project and have a lot of motivation for it.

I seriously can’t believe I’m going to be watching Formula 1, lounging on a deck chair, in my formal wear on a Cunard ship.

What a brilliant way to end the day!

I'm a great fan of the night time Pavilion screen. Great fun.

It was very well attended, greater numbers than I thought honestly!

I’ve written a soon to be sent letter to the Entertainment Director, in a hope they will keep up in playing the F1 not only in the Pavilion, but perhaps in 1840 if it’s not available.

Late start for me today, only out of the cabin at 9:10! Spa, coffee and laps as is the routine thus far.

Unfortunately I’ve been knocked down to 2nd in the blackjack tournament, but hopefully I shall remain until at least the final.

Speedy but small lunch in Golden Lion before a wander around various venues.

Completely forgot about the wine tasting but luckily I still have time as it’s at 14:45 today, and the CWC party at 17:15

Stop the presses! They now have bar seating in the commodore club!

Looks lovely, I am guessing there a still some final pieces of furniture that'll make it onboard over coming cruises. I remember reading on one of the posts here that there were still some chairs for QM2 from last year due to arrive.

I wonder how long the foot rests on them will last ? The Bar stool foot rests

in The Chart Room are already breaking due to the weakness in the metal struts.  On the subject of Bar stools, the Bar stools in The Corinthia Lounge are very sharp on the underside and could easily cut your legs when they swivel if you position your feet on them.

How was the blackjack tournament??

I managed to come 3rd in the final, which given I don't normally partake in table games in casinos, I think is pretty good!

Would I be a hypocrite if I said that the lady doing her work meeting in the commodore club has been very distracting for the last 30 minutes?

I feel like I’m part of the meeting quite honestly.

I thought you just did some work, rather than performing it to anyone around. In which case it is not remotely hypocritical. I assume everyone has been far too polite to say anything.

I read from @safarigal’s blog that she had the same experience with a guy doing business very loudly in the CC broadcasting that he was losing 100’s of thousands of GBP. Really…pretty rude for those around him, even when asked to pipe it down.

Exactly, just using my laptop. I’m even conscious to make sure my typing isn’t too loud!

The WiFi in the cabins is more than good enough to take a 30 minute meeting in. I don’t think it’s unfair to ask for no meetings in public areas.

Completely agree, I would like to see that for all calls, not just meetings!

In fact, an extremely negative, one star, review of QA has just appeared, solely on the basis that the ship blocked various websites vital to the reviewer’s work. This doesn’t sound an entirely bad idea…

https://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=716079

Based on the review I’m surprised I didn’t see a comment about “taking legal action” to gain back any “losses”

Perhaps Cunard have blocked these services to try and discourage people from working remotely on their ships, which I don’t disagree with if people are going to be taking meetings, etc in public spaces.

I suppose I am biased, but I think in my case I’m being harmless coding away on my laptop.

I wonder whether the individual is the same one who troubled @Safari Girl enough to make her move. He was talking about money he had lost.
