Hi everyone, where you able to get the status on your passports yet? I will be leaving here on Sunday so It will be a week or so until I can get back to all of you, but I will....As you all have probably noticed I am a bit shy. Okay I know what your thinking, (yeah right) right? haha...Anyway, I will be online until Sunday so I will keep checking in...Sue:cool:

Sue, went to the passport site and they couldn't give me any information. They said they had no information on me or anybody else in my party, so I emailed them. They did get back to me and told me that my application is in process at the Charleston Passport Center. They said passports are normally processed within 6 to 8 weeks. Well it's been almost 4 weeks now. It just got me nervous when the site told me there was no record for all of us.

We'll miss not hearing from you for a whole week. Are you staying with your inlaws? You do this every year?

Jeri, I've been checking ebay for something to hold my passport, ID and $ on those port days. I think I found something, over the shoulder or around the neck. I will also check out those web sites. Also, sorry your daughter won't be going.

Linda, as far as what to wear. It seems the cocktail parties will be right before our dinners, so whatever you will be wearing for dinner you wear to the cocktail parties. For breakfasts and lunches, just casual. I'm sure shorts would even work. At least, that's what I'm doing. Not getting dressed for those meals, just dinners.

Never did get the answer for my other question. What's pogo? Is it a card game? Does anyone play Pinochele? I wonder if they have tables poolside to play cards?

Why don't you check our host - QVC? Travelon has a few that are really cool.

Pogo is games played online. (Pogo.com) They have free games, I pay about $7.00 a month - but since I am pretty much housebound it is well worth the entertainment I get every month - esp now that I want to stay away from the casinos to save money. I have seen a number of tables around the pool and near the bars. Don't play Pinochele, but Sue and I both like Canasta, and I also love euchre, gin and cribbage, and want to learn caribbean poker - already like blackjack.

Hey Sue - if cruise is not paid in full by now - isn't it a good plan to contact MSC to make sure everything is going according to plan?

Barb...Pogo is a game site, you can play for free or become a member and play all the games, been there a long time..all kinds of games...chat rooms etc..

Yes, we leave for the winter, this will be our 2nd. year, we have a motorhome and spend alot of time in it. some call us snowbirds but in my case we are Rain birds haha...We go to Needles Ca. Needles is on the border of Az. and NV. Jeri knows where its at I am sure, she is from Vegas. I had rather be in motorhome than in my house haha..love to just be able to go....We are picking up 1 sis in law in Needles and heading to Tombstone Az. for about 5 days, the back to the desert.(Needles).

We will be in and out of there until Christmas, then we will stay put until the cruise...:D P.S. on the passport site you have to put in exact what is on passport app. had hard time with hubbies cuz we have a son by same name and I forgot to put Sr. in ha.....

That was a concern for me - would they change the way the cruise is handled because we are almost all going to be from the US. You know, food (my biggest concern), and just the Italian atmosphere. I was assured no! MSC has done quite a few theme cruises and has never changed anything to suit the groups. About the only thing I think is that they may have some QVC logo things in one of the onboard shops. For one, I am excited about the live broadcasts they will be having.

I have asked and never gotten an answer about the early seating will be handled on the first nite - We will be taking off at 7PM - when will the sailaway party be? I have heard so much about them!

Jeri.....................

When I talked to QVC. they said all the info will be in the packett with the tickets, They are still in the planning stage, that was about a month ago...A news letter will be put in our cabins everyday with all the activities for that day.. Can't wait....;)

Hi! Thank you for the link to Cruise Diva -- that is an excellent site. Having never been on a cruise before I had no idea what to expect. Do any of you use the walky talkies to keep in touch on board? One more question -- for the ports of call, is it easy to go out on ones own or do you stay with the ship's excursions? I am inclined to "do my own thing" primarily because I can pace myself. If I do that can I return to the ship at any time?

Had insomnia last night and did some online shopping. Found a fabulous formal outfit at Coldwater Creek online store outlet. (So don't buy the pink shantung duo!).

Hi Linda, Yes you can go out on your own, But you have to be back on ship,I think they said 1 hour before sailing..I'm not sure what we will do yet. Thinking walkie talkies would be a good idea. there is 5 in my party so that would help in all sorts of ways....Sue ps, yes you can return to ship anytime....

Been there and done that! If I was traveling with my daughter would use walkie-talkies- ah - maybe. It depends on if you really need to I guess. Hated my last cruise - but not because of the cruise line. People I traveled with made me nuts. If I had had a walkie talkie afraid I would never would have been hidden from them. As for the ports of call, I have read and agree that the Caribbean is somewhere I will feel confortable exploring on my own. Horse back haunting me. Just will plan on giving myself an hour rather than 1/2 hour to get back to the ship. So used to taking naps in the daytime - and being a tea lover and eating last sitting things fall into place for me for high tea. HOWEVER I would never take off completly on my own - would be with someone from the wonderful group of people I have meet here.

Jeri, My Mother in law is going also, she is 77 but can keep up pretty good, she's in very good health, soooo, I am sure there are things we can all do together..I am seriously thinking about that canopy excursion in the rainforest...Scared of hights but how often does a experience that come along?...She wouldn't be able to do that, so need to find her a fun time also..Sis in law, wants to do the horse thingy too, It will all work out!!!!!!

Hi everyone: I just got off the phone with the cruise reservations. I was concerned about my billing of the remaining portion. They told me that they do not send out a billing that you need to phone in an complete the billing transaction. They also told me that they have appox. 20 outside cabins left and appox. 125 inside cabins. They believe all cabins will be sold by date of the cruise. I tried to pry out of them any names or events with no success.

Thanks, need to get that number to sis in law.......she has also been waiting to pay........

The wonderful guy that has helped me from day 1 and has dealt very well with me said that calls directly to him are welcome. His name is Henry and his direct number is 786.543.4249 - just isn't a toll free number - but he will call you right back so you don't waste your long distance charges

Yes, I have talked to henry in the past and he is great. His number is 786-543-4249. This guy knows how to take care of business. He is the one who told me that QVC would be televising for San Juan. He did not know if it was from the ship or on land.

I would like to meet him, he's great to talk with. Have you read any reviews on the cruise line MSC. I took a look at he menu and I can't even say half of the dishes they will be serving. Since most of the gang are U.S I wonder if they are going to change the menu.

James, from what I was told the menu is going to be the same but adding some american food. I am not fond of Itilian food but will try anything at least once..I saw the menu also and I can't pronounce many of them either hahaha, good thing the waiters start off by telling you what they are and how made, at least on my last cruise they did. I can grant you that if you don't like it, they will keep bringing food until you find something..The young lady that set with us had them hopping hahaha...

They always have Steaks !!!!!!
