neworleanscruiser Posted September 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2006 Does anyone know if the Rosario Strings are still sailing on the Grandeur? We are sailing in 77 days and I love to listen to this group play. Thanks for any information.:)
truffles2 Posted September 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2006 They had a Rosario duo in March 2006. You do know that there are a bunch of Rosario strings? (different duos and trios that are all named the same)

CruiseMor Posted September 23, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2006 It's very interesting that there are several Rosario Strings. They were on the Sovereign for our sailing 9/4 and we definitely enjoyed listening to these talented musicians (especially the pianist/vocalist Anthony). Pumbaamd Posted September 23, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Somewhere there was a history posted about the Rosario Strings, maybe here on CC. If memory serves me correctly, there was the original Rosario family. They provided a couple of duos or trios to a few RCL ships. The demand became greater and they began training others to fill the demand for more Rosario Stringers for the ships. No, it's not quite a franchise operation, but I believe the original family still recruits and trains the musicians.

critterchick Posted September 23, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Mercifully they don't have them on Monarch of the Seas. Maybe I'm jinxed, but every set of them we've heard have been out of tune and screechy.
The Big Booper Posted September 23, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2006 They were not on the Freedom this summer. I think they were on the Serenade in 2004.
truffles2 Posted September 23, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 23, 2006 They are all over the place.....even on other cruise lines. They have always sounded great to me.
FinelyCruising Posted September 23, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 23, 2006 We have seen them in our travels twice, and of the two times there is the one violinist who was the same both times. Magnificent!
Twaincruisers Posted September 23, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 23, 2006 We saw a Rosario duo on Radiance early this year and they were terrific. Then we were shocked to see a trio in Aug. on Majesty--they were also very good. Never seen them on another line.

I hope to see a version of them on the Serenade in Feb. I don't recall if they were there last Feb.
