B40 Tha Cruisa Posted April 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2007 I posted a similar thread about this the other day. It was about when Princess will actually build one of these mega ships. Royal Caribbean will have the genesis in 2009(220,000 tons) and Carnival has the "Pinnacle Plan" waiting in the wings. Princess will eventually have to build one. A Sixth? Posted April 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2007 I Like it! Almost 1,600 feet long! 370,000 tons! up to 10,000 crew and passengers! Sounds like a sweet ride. Bring her on! :D
B40 Tha Cruisa Posted April 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Yeah, looks cool- probably wont be ready for 6 years though.
MaryPoppinz Posted April 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2007 If they build it....I will sail. It won't be my favorite (I heart Coral), but I'll try it once, that's for sure. Just me and 20,000 of my closest friends. :)
marinearchit Posted April 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2007 The pool deck looks interesting. Look at all of the flags that are forward of midships. It is an interesting concept. Though, I doubt it will work unless a well known cruise company builds it.
paul929207 Posted April 3, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2007 Sorry, but I will pass on this one. We prefer the smaller ships. Paul
red devil Posted April 3, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2007 Please recheck information on this ship, it is not part of Princess cruise lines. Red
play21cw Posted April 3, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I'd go on it, but i'd probably have to take 3 or 4 cruises just to see everything (and ultimately post a review on CC.):D
MaryPoppinz Posted April 3, 2007 #11 Share Posted April 3, 2007 Because of the way the itinerary is designed, I think you would need an extended stay on this ship. The ship sails 3-4 days, then is in (one) port for 3-4 days. In port, passengers can tour the city extensively using the ship as a hotel for the 3-4 days -- and visitors can come onboard for dining, shopping, shows, etc. I know a lot of people think of all cruise ships as floating hotels, but this ship really *is* one. I'm not leaving home for a month or two at a stretch right now, because I just don't enjoy being gone that long. But, I think there will come a time when this concept would work for us - - taking an extended trip maybe every couple of years.

tc2828 Posted April 3, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 3, 2007 Oh mine, the bigger the cruise ship the better so I can take longer vacation to try out everything on the ship.

TravlGrl Posted November 28, 2009 #17 Share Posted November 28, 2009 Why resurrect this two and one-half year old thread? Since it was their first post on CC, my guess is that they did a search using a keyword that turned up this thread...and they didn't realize it was a thread from 2.5 yrs ago.
