Groups On Your Sailing?

Of course we would all love it if we could see a list of groups on any and every cruise so we can think we can determine whether or not their interests will "ruin" our cruise....just not going to happen. I check things out, but tend to stay away from Carnival because they attract so many groups. You do what you have to do. We had a wonderful group from Brazil on our Emerald Princess Grand Med cruise this year - sometimes groups can be a good thing!

There are groups on every sailing on every cruise ship. It's just a matter of how large the groups are. In many instances the groups that you see on the shoretrips site are just group space held by travel agencies. The people in the group have not connection except that they all booked with the same agency. All large cruise agencies hold group space on hundreds of sailings each year. In most cases that's how they can offer lower prices.

Were you on the Liberty? Did you see the "700-800 wild, lewd, thug-like people"? Of course you did not, yet you have decided this is what actually happened based on one persons post.<snip>......<snip>..I do not know what occured on the Liberty

Chris

I read and skimmed the entite thread before the mods poofed it. There were other passengers on that trip who conformed what the OP was saying.

Carnival has far more groups cruising with it than the other lines. Which is why I would never go near them again, especially after our 3 soso-to-bad trips with them.

Our first cruise had about 500 WWII vets sailing on it. They were a lot of fun to talk to as they had all been on the same ship and had some great stories. Our last one had a group of librarians. Can't say either one was rowdy or obnoxious. So not all groups are created equal.

I have to say, we will be on an upcoming cruise with a "group". Not sure if it will be a BIG group, (but I'm sure it will be fairly small!!). We're not on this posted listing.

We are an "older" (past 40) group, males AND females, GOOD Americans, lots of Vets, and we are doing the cruise as a fundraiser (AND paying a premium price, so the extra $$$$'s can go to charity!!)

Please, be assured that we will NOT be taking our clothes off, Sleeping around, falling overboard, using obscene language (unless you count "damn" when I lose in the casino). But we WILL have fun!!

So, lists are just that--lists.
