Onboard Star part 3

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

Unfrotunately CC's get together didn't go to well as we were pulling into Noumea at the same time - did get to meet Rolls though. At lifou today - the west beach is closed due to sharks. Managed to walk over the island to try snorkelling but decided steps too slippery and steep although Russell did snorkel as did creeky and mrs creeky.

Enjoyed noumea although quite pricey - found the chocolate shop and well and truly endulged - my stomach was complaining hours later. Had dinner at steakhouse yum yum. Watched "shake Rattle and Roll' and the theme night was 50's. 60's. 70's and 80's. Tonights show is Jackie Love and then Rock n Roll party. All the parties are on Lido deck whereas last year they were in the show lounges.

The city highlights tour was quite good and only $23 each.

Tomorrow is Port Vila so looking forward to duty free shopping in the morning and having a 3 hour tour in the afternoon.

Cheers Rach

Hope you're not going on a small boat with a Jolly Captain and a wacky first mate Rach.....

(read Rach's comment and think about it people....)

Hi,

Stacey - in answer to your question - we left the ship last Saturday and she seemed to be in pretty good order. There was a problem with the PA system on disembarkation but I believe they fixed it up. Saw quite a few maintenance workers on board touching up bits and pieces.

Hope you have a fantastic time next week.

Ummm,

I dont get it???

Here's a clue....

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,

A tale of a fateful trip

That started from this tropic port

Aboard this tiny ship.

The mate was a mighty sailing man,

The skipper brave and sure.

Five passengers set sail that day

For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.

See if the rest of the song helps :)

The weather started getting rough,

The tiny ship was tossed.

If not for the courage of the fearless crew,

The Minnow would be lost. The Minnow would be lost.

The ship's aground on the shore of this

Uncharted desert isle

With Gilligan, the Skipper too,

The Millionaire and his wife,

A movie star, the Professor and Mary Ann,

Here on Gilligan's Isle!

So this is the tale of our castways,

They're here for a long, long time

They'll have to make the best of things,

It's an uphill climb.

The first mate and his Skipper too,

Will do their very best,

To make the others comfortable,

In their tropic island nest.

No phones! No lights! No motor cars!

Not a single luxury,

Like Robinson C-ru-soe, it's primitive as can be.

So join us here each week my friends,

You're sure to get a smile,

For seven stranded castways,

Here on "Gilligan's Isle."

Of course, you may be too young to have wasted many hours watching old '60's TV programs! :)

Jo, it was a sin to miss Gillian's Island in our household in the 70's (and 80's) LOL :p Along with B'Witched, I Dream Of Jeanie, Get Smart and all the other old 60's re-runs :D

When I was growing up Gilligan's Island was one of my favourite TV shows (although I'm young enough to say that I was watching the reruns). When I saw Rach's comment about the 3 hour tour, I just couldn't help myself! I was going to post the rest today, but Jo beat me to it.... Thanks Jo!

My pleasure:D

I wasted many, many hours watching TV as a young-un. Mum tried to limit our watching to half an hour each! There were 6 kids though, and we all picked something different, so that meant 3 hours of TV a day! I'm sure I've seen almost every episode of Get Smart (my favourite!), Bewitched, I Dream of Jeanie, Brady Bunch (didn't like that much, but hey! it was TV) and so on. Probably watched most of Love Boat too (to get back to the cruising theme!) :p

Those were the days! Of course these days I limit my kids viewing, so I did learn something from Mum
