elmorejj Posted September 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2004 Well it looks like there is a class action suit, against Costa this time. The usual stuff, over payment of port charges. I am a past Costa cruiser and cruised within the time frame stated....1992-1997. As usual a big fat discount off a future cruise! $50pp or, a $7.50 cash payment, WOW!! Of course the attorneys don`t have to take their fee in vouchers!! So if any of you sailed Costa in this time period, you can download the claim forms from the ad on this page.....jean
ekerr19 Posted September 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2004 geez, jean! I bet you're already in line for that whopping $50pp discount! ;) What a deal! :D
jhannah Posted September 15, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2004 Ever read a settlement letter from a class action? It's appalling! A pittance goes to those affected, while the attorneys involved rake in millions of dollars. I'd better stop now!
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 15, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2004 We got our notices last week from NCL about the class action suit. Since we don't cruise them anymore, we sent in our forms and both of us will get a nice chunk of money back.
gizmo Posted September 15, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2004 KK, I also received the letter about NCL. It wanted booking numbers, which we no longer have. Did you still have yours?
elmorejj Posted September 15, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted September 15, 2004 Costa also wants booking numbers, dates, cabin numbers etc. Just another way to get out of paying. I mean, who saves that stuff for over 10 years!!.....jean
RuthC Posted September 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2004 Oh goodie! More vouchers! I haven't been able to unload the HAL ones yet.

cruisinjudy Posted September 16, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 16, 2004 i figure that $15 for our two NCL cruises will really go far!
gizmo Posted September 16, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 16, 2004 Jean, I agree. Asking for a booking number after 10 years is rediculous. The lawyers always make a ton of money out of these class action suits. KK, Did you have your booking numbers or did you just send it in with dates? Krazy Kruizers Posted September 16, 2004 #11 Share Posted September 16, 2004 gizmo We didn't have our booking numbers for the NCL cruises - neither does our TA> But I always keep record of the ships, dates, and cabin numbers. So we are hoping that helps. Just another list I keep on mu computer.
gizmo Posted September 16, 2004 #12 Share Posted September 16, 2004 Thanks KK. I might give it a try. I think I have the dates and I know I have the cabin numbers.
cruise freak Posted September 16, 2004 #13 Share Posted September 16, 2004 I just filled out the NCL claim form. I guess I am one of the few that keep a folder for every cruise I have taken which had all of the info that was requested. I have always kept these for people that I know who might take the same cruise so I can give to them to read and know what is in store for them.
