MISSSNOOPYGIRL Posted January 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I read a travel article about the Pride saying it is the classy ship of Carnival's fleet. Previous Pride travelers, your thoughts?
Sharkin97 Posted January 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I think the Pride is a beautiful ship. Lots of dark woody tones, renaissance artwork, rich-colored fabrics on chairs etc. I would say that Pride is decorated in a very masculine fashion. I have read where some did not like it because it is dark. Some areas do 'feel' dark, but arent really dark. The dark tones just make it seem that way. I do not know about "classy" but it NOT glitzy and gaudy.
VentureMan_2000 Posted January 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I read a travel article about the Pride saying it is the classy ship of Carnival's fleet. Previous Pride travelers, your thoughts? The ships main decor and theme is 11th - 12th century artists and Masters. Lot's of nakkedness... but elegantly done. They even have a full sized replica of Michael baring all. Compared to the bright decor of a lot of other ships, the Pride is very nice and elegant. Cruzman Posted January 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I would have to say that the decor depicts an atmosphere of distinction and elegance much more than any other Carnival ship on which I have sailed.

irishgirl Posted January 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2008 All of the murals are renaisennce artwork, so it is very dark. So, if you like that period of artwork, you will love the Pride.
Knights on the Beach Posted January 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I think the Spirit class ships, in general, are more subdued (by Carnival's standards) and less glitzy. Maybe that's why I prefer the other ship classes. ;)
kimcruiser Posted January 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I can only speak about the ships I have acutally been on because I really feel I need to be there to appreciate the "view" but I have to say the Pride was the most memorable in decor and the richness of it. Now for the cruise itself it was my least favorite but that does not have anything to do with the actual ship itself so "classy"? Yes, in the actual ship decor and furnishings.:)
VentureMan_2000 Posted January 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I just like the nekkedness... :D
MrPete Posted January 25, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I found the Pride QUITE classy. Especially when she sailed me to a regal place..... BERMUDA!
Nebr.cruiser Posted January 26, 2008 #11 Share Posted January 26, 2008 I don't know about 'classiness', but our waiter on the Spirit told us the 'Pride' was a great ship, implying it was better than the Spirit, which we enjoyed.

Wasn't that David outside of David's Supper Club? http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1301627553046023440wWYTCd  I loved the Pride decor. Very rich looking. boundingmaynard Posted January 26, 2008 #13 Share Posted January 26, 2008 The Pride is a beautifully elegant ship with a wonderful intimate feeling despite its size.

shawilson Posted January 26, 2008 #16 Share Posted January 26, 2008 My favorite thing about the decor of Pride is the beautiful art glass (Don't remember it is Murano or not). It is displayed all around the ship, and sometimes you find it in unexpected places.
Jenbo57 Posted January 26, 2008 #17 Share Posted January 26, 2008 Oh lord...if the Pride is considered classy, I'm afraid to board the Valor in May! I thought it was gaudy, over the top, and very "Las Vegas". But then, we'd only sailed Celebrity previously, whose ships are nothing like Carnival's. Did I enjoy the cruise though? Heck, yeah! jessemon Posted January 26, 2008 #18 Share Posted January 26, 2008 I read a travel article about the Pride saying it is the classy ship of Carnival's fleet. Previous Pride travelers, your thoughts?Please...this is a Carnival ship......there is nothing classy about it. It is a run of the mill Farcus design that reeks of the same old thing that is always done by him. These are "FUN SHIPS" that are designed for drinking and covorting. If folks are looking for class they should not be on this board or booking with them.......LOL......:D PS: I have my 5th and 6th classless cruises booked with Carnival........:p :p

If it hadn't had all those ugly "urns" (I guess they are supposed to be trophys), it could have been called "classy".
