Nathan, what a surprise...first I read your Star review, then I mention you to 4 cruisers (Nanette and Bruce who were with you on that cruise and apparently met you and now I find you are going to be on Eurodam which I am also going to be on Nov. 1st. Looking forward to putting a face on Sakedad!

Great to hear Nathan,

I have a question for you. Will you be taking your mother on Eurodam and spoiling her again?

The shows sound great. Only wish we could see them while you are on.

Good luck for your upcoming "season"...

:D :D :D

What a fabulous job! If I were 20 years younger.....

Break a leg!

Just a thought: I'm not sure if Nathan was a dancer in his earlier life (before "the Dream Job"), but having been an aspiring dancer myself many many moons ago, it is better not to say "break a leg", for obvious reasons. We dancers usually just kiss each other on the cheek and say "Merde", which is French for "break a leg" - Okay "poop" is closer to the actual translation.:D

Sorry: I was just having a little bit of fun with "break a leg" and I know that you and I and so many others really do wish Nathan the best of luck, no matter how we express it, and I do apologize for acting like an idiot - it's hotter than Hades here right now and I'm just acting out my frustration - I'm here and I really want to be on a cruise right now.

Valerie :)

Evening, Val;) Yeah. "Merde" definitely means "sh*t". I saw an umbrella once in Quebec City that said "Merde, il pleut" = "Poop, it's raining";)

from Wikipedia:

"Break a leg" is a well-known saying in theatre which means "good luck". It is typically said to actors before they go out onto stage to perform.

The expression reflects a theatrical superstition in which wishing a person "good luck" is considered bad luck. The expression is sometimes used outside the theatre as superstitions and customs travel through other professions and then into common use.

Nathan, you are a case! I think the Eurodam is very fortunate to have such a lively, fun, creative, talented employee who also takes great pictures! We'll be looking forward to more shots and it's great to hear you're having fun!

HELLO!!!!! Well, it's been a WHIRLWIND since I got the call to be hired as the Stage Manager for the shows on the Eurodam! I had 4 days to pack up and get to Venice and start learning 5 shows!!!! The shows are fabulous and very fun. The cast is amazing and I know you'll all love them as I do! I have a very nice cabin to myself with a porthole (very happy about that!) and have basically been working 8am to midnight or later since I got here!:o The only time I got to see Venice was when we had a planned blackout on the ship and had to "evacuate" for the evening...but I had a lovely dinner and took lots of pics....amazing how much Venice looks like Vegas now:rolleyes:

I have a friends internet card now but we have no wireless until we sail so I haven't been able to get here until now.

The ship is BEAUTIFUL (or will be by the time any of you see it;)). Having sailed as a Deluxe Verandah guest on the Noordam I know the ship, but it is still very much a construction zone and has been fun learning all the "back areas" of the ship.

The food is great as I eat in the Lido everyday...you will all LOVE Tamarind and the new bar there....martinis as you sail a MUST!!!

Please stop by the showroom and look for me and introduce yourselves if onboard....love to meet you and even give backstage tours when I can!

The Captain and his wife are wonderful as are the entire crew....I have already made some great friends and plan on making more once we are underway, the shows are set and I'm not working so much!!

Off to bed as I have to be up in 5 hours!:p It takes WORK to keep all our passengers happy....but it will be well worth it!:D

See you all soon!

Nathan

Nathan - I will be on starting Friday so I will come say "hello" to you!
