curly1963 Posted July 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2008 We have a 'closet' cabin for our first ever cruise. Somewhere on the boards I saw a post or something re: that they turn off the a/c at night and the cabins get really warm. Is that true??? We will be on a 12 day Eastern Med. cruise end of August. We will have no window (assuming you can open them for a breeze!?!?!?) so I am wondering if I should now go out and buy a small fan and extension cord and make room in my suitcase for that?!?! Do the cabins have individual thermastats you control?? FreewayFortune Posted July 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2008 I've never been on the Legend but the ships I have been on have had individual thermostats. FYI you can not open the windows, just the door to the balcony. Enjoy your cruise.
cb at sea Posted July 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2008 All cabins have individual controls! You can "chill" at will!
robtulipe Posted July 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2008 We had a superior J inside on deck 7 of Legend during our last Nov. Eastern Med cruise and had no problems with the AC which could be adjusted using the thermostat in our cabin. I don`t recall it being being automatically turned off at night and even though it was early in Nov., it was hot at time especially when we were docked in Egypt. phantom728 Posted July 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2008 We were on Legend back in 2006 and had no trouble with the temp controls in the room. We were always able to adjust to keep the rooms the right temp for us. It's a beautiful ship - enjoy!
curly1963 Posted July 11, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted July 11, 2008 WHEW :p that is a relief!!! Hubby and I both like it on the chilly side for sleeping! I am SO glad I misunderstood whatever post I came across that said the A/C was turned off at night!!!!! ONE less thing to 'worry' about. Thanks SO much everyone!!! :D
c.schless Posted July 14, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2008 Just to let you know, some thermostats shut off if the balcony door is left open. Since you are in an inside that is not an issue. Have a woonderful cruise!
rubrrick Posted July 14, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2008 All cabins on the Legend have temperature controls. Chill out at will during the evening. We love sleeping in a bit cooler temperatures, and the Legend has a wonderful control of warm or cool air. Rick

AF-1 Posted July 14, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2008 Happy Anniversary, enjoy your med cruise. I was on Splendour last year in the med. She's the sister ship to Legend. The air will work fine, you should be as cool as you want. cheers
