I should get a full refund

Recommended Posts

Because:

1. There were too many children on board.

2. There were too many old people on board.

3. I cruised during spring break and there were waaaay too many college students on board.

4. There were too many people who weren’t exactly like me on board.

5. I wasn’t allowed to keep my walker/wheelchair/electric scooter in the hallway outside my stateroom. Why should I have to have that stuff taking up space inside my stateroom.

6. My under 16 year old children were not allowed in the adult pool or hot tubs;

7. My “young for his age” 20 year old son was not allowed to hang out in the teen club with the 13/14/15 year olds.

8. My non potty trained child was not allowed in the pool.

9. My “mature for his/her age” 17 year old son/daughter was not allowed to drink alcohol or use the casino even though I said it was okay.

10. My TA told me I “might” get an upgrade and I didn’t.

11. After reading the Cruise Critic upgrade fairy threads I thought everyone always got upgraded from an inside GTY to at least a balcony.

12. I booked a GTY stateroom and when I got on board I hated the location and “they” wouldn’t let me switch staterooms to one I did like.

13. When I got on board I discovered the stateroom I booked was too small. Nobody told me it would be that small.

14. The window in my OV stateroom didn’t open.

15. My inside stateroom was too dark.

16. The crew/staff would not look after my children for me unless I enrolled them in the kids club. After all it’s my vacation too so why should I have to look after my children.

17. I wasn’t allowed to wear whatever I felt like in the main dining room for dinner. After all it’s my vacation so why should I have to dress up.

18. I had to cancel my cruise. And no I didn’t buy travel insurance. I’ve never needed it before so why should I have thought I might need it this time. I just want my money back.

19. I arrived at the port without the correct ID and wasn’t allowed to board the ship.

20. I arrived at the port after check in time and wasn’t allowed to board the ship.

21. The weather was too hot/cold/humid/cloudy/rainy.

22. Because of the weather we missed a port and that port was the whole reason I took that particular cruise.

23. All the food was inedible. I didn’t find one thing I could eat for the entire week that I was on board.

24. But worst of all and this is absolutely unforgivable and I will never ever cruise again - there was no conditioner or lotion provided in my bathroom.

After doing my research I have discovered that these are all apparently legitimate reasons for asking for a full refund. Please feel free to add to the list as you see fit.

Personally, I am sailing on the Serenade of the Seas to Alaska in September in a GS and I already know that I had a really good time but if I'm not upgraded to captain when I get on board I will be asking for a full refund.

You missed:

- I expected a smooth cruise because I was entitled to it but the ship was rocking too much

- I did not see the stabilizers deployed thus we were rocking. I am entitled to stabilizer deployment when I want it.

- They did not allow me to bring my own pillows, blankets, shower curtain, vacuum cleaner, iron, chest freezer, loungers, surf boards, fishing gear, a pick up truck load of sodas, shopping cart full of booze, coffee maker, fold out bed, toaster oven because they said I exceeded the 200lbs. They should give me the cruise for free since I could not make myself at home.

- After they denied all of the above I was forced to smuggle everything. I stacked their crap on the balcony and couldn't use the balcony anymore. I expect a refund since I can not use my balcony anymore but paid for a balcony room.

25. They made me walk all the way from one end of the ship to another...they didn't even have the courtesy to provide a "people mover" like they have in airports!

26. I booked a suite and they didn't provide a valet to unpack for me and put away all my clothes.

You forgot these as well:

1. The entertainment sucked. The singers couldn't sing, the dancers couldn't dance, it was cheesy.

2. The staff didn't get to know me by name. Everyone on my last cruise on [pick one: Regent, Crystal, Silversea, Seabourn] called Mrs. Feeblebuster. This didn't happen on my RCI cruise.

3. I didn't get any towel animals.

4. My tablemates sucked. They were low-class trash from rednecksville, and I was insulted that we were matched up with them, being the high-class intellectuals that we are.

5. We didn't get an invite to the Captain's Table, even though we are really really important people (being the high-class intellectuals that we are) and everyone should know that.

6. There was a bad smell in my cabin the whole cruise.

7. There was a baby crying next door and we couldn't sleep. (Ear plugs? What are those?)

8. Our cabin was on top of the disco, and the music was loud and kept us up all night. (Ear plugs? What are those?)

9. Our cabin was over the anchor, and it woke us up every morning when they'd drop it in port. (Ear plugs.....?)

I wish this could be posted on a lot of threads. It is priceless. Somehow, though, I think the people using your excuses feel they are justified.

Thanks for a post with a great sense of humor. I might have to copy it and put it in with my comments when I leave Mariner in October. Do you think I will get a free cruise???????????

You forgot....my eyes stung everytime I went swimming in the pool because it was salt water and not 100% spring water.
