Any limit on bringing water on board?

My MIL gave us luggage we were storing in her attic. We forgot we even had it. I want to bring bottled water for our cruise. I have a water filter so now even NYC tap water tastes funny to me. I like to have the bottles for going off ship too. If we filled a suitcse with water is that ok? IS there a better way to get bottled water on board besides paying by the bottle?

I would guess that a suitcase full of water would be fine...! Sames as a case of soda in a suitcase!

They just frown on a case, tagged with a luggage tag... Their rules state "a reasonable amount"..:)

Personally, I drank the tap water all week last week on the Freedom.. Tasted fine to me..:D

The luggage info on the Carnival website suggests that each suitcase (2 per person) not weigh more than 50 pounds, I'm not sure how much water you are talking about, but that could be an issue.

1 gallon of water weighs ten pounds when last I checked.

5 gallons = 50 pounds.

What a heavy hassle! and for just 5 gals of water :D

I just returned from the Ecstasy Dec. 18 cruise...

I packed 24 bottles....

I split them between several suitcases....

and had no problem...

I was with my family....husband and 5 teenage girls..

we ended up not drinking atleast half of it and I did not bring it home...

due to all our souveniers...I just didn't have the space...so I left it in the room....

The ship's water is fine--it's purer than tap water. It's very soft--no minerals.

You do not need to lug all that weight with you!

And best of all it doesn't cost a cent!! :D

- it's much purer than regular tap water - it's Distilled!!
