Carnival Victory Casino

Hi Snowracer.

It works just like any other casino with some exceptions. You could always use cash (chips). You could use your S&S card in the slots as well. In the past if you wanted to get cash using your S&S card they charged you a fee -- similar to what an ATM charges (otherwise you would simply go to the casino for your cash needs and bypass the $3 fee ATMs.) Heard some stuff recently that they may have changed this but I'm not sure.

Also, they will hold blackjack and slot tournaments. These you do have to sign up for -- as I remember it's $20 per entry. Depending on the length of the cruise they may have more than one. Check your capers and the casino area for the dates and times.

What is different than other casinos is that drinks at the table are NOT free.

But in every casino remember: the house ALWAYS has the advantage. Too bad.

And Good Luck!!!

Seen a couple talks about casino cash and people signing up for stuff. Is this something I have to do if I want to play in the casino? Or is this something to do to make things easier before I get there? Any info appreciated, thx.

You don't HAVE to do anything to play in the casino. Just give them your money and play, just like a land-based casino.

you can try going to oceanplayersclub.com and registering. I don't know if you have to be a past cruiser, but they will ask for info about your upcoming cruise. You may or may not get any benefits. I received a letter in our cabin on our last cruise (we were past guests already), instructing me to see the casino host. Even though the letter was just in my name, both DH and I got a free drink, and I got 500 points put on my casino account.

You earn points playing the slot machines by putting your S&S card in the machine while you're playing. (Any of the casino attendants can explain how the program works.) When you reach 1000 points, you are awarded $10.

I have never used my S&S card to withdraw funds for gambling, but I do use it like casino "rewards" cards at home. I start out by putting $20 in a machine. (I guess I could just put my entire gambling budget for the cruise all at once.) When I want to stop playing, I punch in my ID# (which you set up the first time you play). It then tranfers any credits to my casino account. Then I go to another machine, and if there was any money in the account I just download it to the machine and start playing. If the account goes down to $0 I have to put more cash in the machine.

Did this make sense?

Does anyone know what table games they have on Victory? I am a fan of "Let it Ride".

Every CCL ship I have been on has LIR. I also did a Google search for "let it ride on carnival victory" and it looks like you are in luck. Have fun, be nice and get to know the pit critters. My experience has been if you are nice and tip the dealers once in a while the casino will treat you right.

I know it is 1500 pts for 7 day cruises, maybe even 6-8 days too, but Victory cruises are mostly 5 days, so therefore 1000pts ?? not sure, but would love to know.

LOL...you can tell this is an old thread..look in the picture of the blue lion at the slot machines. they still had buckets back then for coins! How fast things change!

Indeed 1,000 on a Victory 4 day cruise. I have been on Fantasy class ships of equal days with 1,500 point minimums, but twice on the Vuctory with 1,000.

I was on a 5 night Victory cruise in June. They have Blackjack, Let It Ride, 3 Card Poker, Caribbean Stud Poker and Fun 21 ( which is a variation of Spanish 21). They also had Craps and Roulette.

I was up and down all week. On the last night and very late when I should have been asleep I decided to play LIR because my favorite dealer was at the table. She actually dealt me 3 aces and when she turned over her second card she had the 4th ace. I gave her a $50 tip, high taled it to the cashier and ran back to my cabin as fast as I could.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!!!
