Hello everyone,

I can't read through all 38 pages, but would like to join. We just booked a cruise on Carnival Valor for Sept. 6th. Finally have a trip to look forward to. Although, don't care for the drive down to Miami, if Tampa wasn't 400 dollars different I would be sailing out of Tampa. Better drive for us. Oh well

I'm at 135.7 and would like to get down to 117-120. I'm starting to diet to day. So I thought I would join this group.

Marsha,

Do you have the measurements, as this is the start of a brand new month?

Missou,

Thanks for being so nice. But now, I must be mean.. GO DO YOUR STEPS!

-Sarge

Kim,

Glad you came and want to join us. You are definitely able to join. Monday is our weekly weigh in date. And the start of each month is our Weigh in and Measurement date. So if you can get us your measurements (just look at Missou's to get the data we ask) and just give us what you want to be included. Glad to have you one board.. but, now, I must say that Missou and I are the ones who are pushing you to climb the stairs daily. So if you feel a push or a shove (missou sometimes gets a little angry during her red week) just know it is us helping you along.

The treatment I got yesterday was so nice and the teacher is very nice too. I had some ribs that were out of place and he poped them back in. My hips were not leveled and it explains the pain I had when I was walking. He strechted me in different ways and my hips are now leveled. I can feel it when I am walking. We talked about the exercises that I am doing and they are good. He gave me 2 or 3 more exercises to do to reinforce my right leg even more. I can easely add them to my daily routine. There are maybe some exercises I can do to prevent my ribs from mooving again, DH will have to look at his books tonight or tomorrow. I paid for a treatment that would last an hour and I got almost 2 hours of treatment. I feel so blessed.

I may loose DH for a few days again in the next months. He will talk with the teacher and DH might go observe him in his clinic in Florida and learn from him even more.

In the next few months, I will work on some muscles that have been forgotten for more than 20 years. This will feel sooooo good. If ever you have the opportunity to be treated by an AIS specialist, you should jump on it. Here is the website address where you can find a therapist near your place http://stretchingusa.com/aistherapists.cfm Not only will they help you feel better, but they will point out the exercises that are best suited for your specific needs.

Well, I am now off to do my exercise routines now, be nice and take care of yourselves...

DH is proud of you Matt... I think I have some pushing and shoving to do here!!!:mad::mad:

Remember Matt, I do 350 steps up and 350 steps down all at once and I will soon add 50 steps to those counts... What about you??? I will start walking again today for 1 or 2 hours... What about you??? I will continue my other exercises also and add some more to them... What about you??? 547lr6el.gif

I don't do 350 at once.. but I do jog up the stairs each morning here at work.. jogging 160 up is tough.

Also do my workout when i get home.

Ok Matt, good enough for me ;):D

Maybe I would be able to jog up the stairs, put for that, I would have so much work to do. My muscles would have do be a lot stronger than they are right now and they would have to learn how to jump again. With a partial paralysis, even if it is a very partial one, it means a lot of hard work, a lot of specific muscle training. Frankly, I don't know if I really want it, it is a lot of hard work and I will not gain so much out of it. My main objective is to be heathy and to feel good about myself. So far, I do and things are getting better and better.

So let's keep on working out so we can be proud of ourselves :D:D:D:D

missou as long as you are doing some type of exercise that fits you it should work. I'm not a big exercise nut. I go for walks 3-4 times a week and I'm also cutting back on a lot of carbs and sugar. That's how I'm doing it.

I didn't say that I'd make it easy!!!!

I'm trouble today!

Welcome Kim. We give each other a hard time but this is a really good place for support and encouragement!

missou: I'm still amazed at your stamina with the stairs. I'm a weakling. I break mine up into 4 different trips up/down. :p

Wanna know what dinner was tonight? It was a delightful culinary mix.
1. String cheese
2. carmel corn rice cakes
3. Cottage cheese with pineapple
4. special K low cal crackers

Seriously, I should have stopped snacking and just made myself a meal! :D

Take care everyone,
Brenda

I am doing 40 reps of all my different routines now. I am also adding some new exercises that the body worker advised me to do last weekend on top of what I am doing. I am also going to do one more to strenghten my calves. I might be able to jog up the stairs eventually...

I think you mean PICTURE.

But you are the one who is going to mess with the Escalators and Elevators.

I have to run back downstairs to drop off my parking money and then go to the post office, so another 160 stairs up coming for me. (will be at 320 not including the stairs at home.)

Ok, but you will have to wait a month or two at the least. A lot of my muscles are weak... Very weak :o Remember also that the number is always increasing and my speed will also increase as I get to be stronger. I am now up to 400 steps up and 400 steps down all at once. I am also doing my stair routine after all the other routines. When I start doing the stairs, I have done at least 30 minutes of strenghtening work on my shoulders, my abs and my legs. My body is a little tired when I get to the stairs.

I took a little break form my workout to answer the phone and to answer you Matt. I will go continue with my abs routine and then I'm off to the stairs to do some climbing and some work for my calves.

Later on this afternoon, I will go for a nice, long, energetic walk. It is sunny outside, let's take advantage of it!! :D:D

Speak to you later everyone.
