I took this photo in San Juan Harbour, P.Rico

looking West from where Carnival Victory was docked next rto the big yellow bldg.

It shows the next pier, with a long white contraption.

What is that used for? Is it a baggage loading conveyor-belt?

I'm packed! Well, mostly. DD decided she doesn't want to take a carryon.

So, two females, 10 days, and we're going with 2 checked bags and 1 carryon.

And she's telling me I'm taking too many clothes!

Gotta get up before 5, as we have a 7:10 flight to San Juan.

Yes, the forecast for all the islands is for a very good chance of rain, but I have my $0.99 rain ponchos packed, so I'm prepared.

Will write a thorough review when I'm back (not returning until 5/26, late, and I have to work on Wednesday :( ).

I am SO looking forward to this! :D

Loved that pic AP

Does anyone know? I am planiing on booking a guarantee balcony cabin on the Victory. Is there going to be a chance since it is a guarantee with no cabin assignment that I may be given an obstructed view cabin? I really dont care where on the ship my cabin is, but do care if it is obstructed.

It depends on what category you are purchasing. If inside, then very likely it will be an obstructed view (very obstructed). I don't think there are any ocean view or balcony cabins with an obstructed view. The forward facing cabins do have an obstructed view, but they are cat 4, which is an inside category, and you would expect an inside cabin to be obstructed. The lifeboats are not outside any cabins. So on this ship, if you book an ocean view or balcony cabin guarantee, I don't think you can end up with an obstructed view.

Here is a picture of a forward facing cabin ...

As we sat on the Lido deck near the pool amidships, I took this one....
So you are the one. Well, now that Carnival knows you are the one who took it, you can expect that they will be contacting you and asking you to return it.

Well, since everyone is posting tropical photos, I'll post some from just a few months ago. Both photos were taken at the same dock on the same day, just hours apart. Notice anything different ...

Hi tide / Lo tide! Wow!

- apart from the sky having clouded over

and the sun in a better position for the latter shot

We were docked there on Explorer last year...If it is the same thing that I am thinking, it is actually a tent thing. I am attaching a couple of pictures.

Old age is here.

Would you believe I'm only now noticing the tent thing my curious white steel structure supports..?

Shows better in this larger photo.

The lighting and contrast is not the greatest, and it just blended into the background for me. -ooohboy!

Thanks for the illumination! :)

Look out now, you're gonna start an issue with posting a picture of the so called, but misnamed (in my opinion) "secret decks" accessed thru "secret doors".

Haha. That's what Deck Plans are for! ;)

Am I the only dork who actually studies them??? I found the secret decks all by myself! :p

Am I the only dork who actually studies them??? ===> Oh no.

If you have the Carnival holidays catalogue like I do

you can spend some time poring over deck plans for 'your ship'

fantasizing about where your next cabin will be!

Already, I'm aiming for Cabin 1111 -just for the numerics, if not for the view!

Ahhh, the simple things in life. :)

Do you have a web-site with a link to your cruise photos? I'd love to see more. You take such great pics!

Just got the sad news that I might be flying to OSJ by myself on Friday... My BF's DF just had a major heart attack and is in ICU. :(

Taken at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the waterslide takeoff point

Notice the trail left by lots of little pitter-patter wet feet!

what is the best part of the victory? ===> What?
It's just gotta be...

the room below water level where they collect and pulverize all the glass waste for later disposal, ashore..

Thanks so much!! Do to following all of your amazing advice, I have no plans in Barbados other than catching a cab to Rockly Beach and soaking in some pure life enegry. :D

You have inspired me!! Thanks.

Anything a potentially single girl or possably a couple should know? I read about other posters having trouble getting cabs to take them there. No problems with getting them to come back and pick you up again I hope?
