2 that I have started doing are pushups and other one you need a good chair or weight bench and a workout ball. sit with your butt on the ver edge of the bench with your leggs straight out and your heels on the ball.

Then push yourself up and lower down without your butt touching the bench. useing only your arms.:)

This was on another thread on Cruise Critic...sorry, I don't know how to post it here other than to cut and paste...

Anyway, wondered what you all thought...I think it would be nice to have drinks be all inclusive, but then again, I wonder about having a ship full of drunks if this becomes commonplace!

Anyone see this post on John's page...

CARNIVAL TESTING NEW ALL-INCLUSIVE BEVERAGE PROGRAM ON CARNIVAL VICTORY

Carnival Cruise Lines began testing a new all-inclusive beverage program aboard the Carnival Victory starting with the ship’s Aug. 5 departure.

Under the “My Awesome Bar Program,” guests can enjoy a wide variety of wine, beer, and spirits, along with sodas and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails, throughout the voyage at one convenient, flat rate. All wines by the glass, beer and individual cocktails priced $10 and lower are available within the program. Full bottles of wine and champagne, as well as wines by the glass, beers and individual cocktails priced above $10, are available at a 25 percent discount.

Guests can sign up for the “My Awesome Bar Program” at Carnival Victory’s atrium and casino bars, as well as a bar within the main pool area. Each guest aged 21 years and over in the same stateroom must purchase the beverage package. Guests must be 21 years or older to consume alcohol on Carnival ships.

The cost for program is $42.95 per person per day, plus a 15 percent gratuity.

Seems similar to me to what celebrity has for their premium alcohol package, though i think theirs costs more because their max is 12 dollars or 14 dollars a glass for the item.

What do I think? I think I'm glad I'm not a drinker!

The peace of the Lord be with you and your family. What a wonderful thing for her to wake up today and be in eternity and see all those gone before her. She knows how you feel for there was a day when she too, had grieved for her own mother and grandmother.

Morning.

My grandmother was called home last night and is now resting in peace with her Lord. So I will be away for a few days.

Blessings to you and yours.

Morning,

Refreshed my memory on my formula last night and realized I was slipping a bit so I'm trying to get back to it. Planned a little better last night before bed.

I'm not going to post food today.......its a pain sometimes to post here and on my WW. But it involves shrimp, fruit, and lean proteins.

Was at 314.6 this morning.

I didn't exercise last night b/c my back was really hurting. I'm waiting on 9am to call my chiro to see if he can get me in this week. I think I can exercise through it tonight though if he can't.

I'm hoping stopping the slipping now will help me lose another lb this week. I also thought about it last night and I think I might be ready to reduce my treats by two day. I'm gonna try that. When the other night I didn't eat all my points and wasn't really in the mood for anything.......I think it was me and my body telling me..........you don't need this. Though WW says I need to at least eat my daily points. It was a good signal that maybe I'm perceiving food differently? Am I cured? By NO means! I can tell you that mom mentioned pizza for dinner tonight b/c she has a meeting and I was drooling..............I have to remember...........moderation. Most things are fine, in moderation.

Off topic a bit.

Last night I was thinking about my glasses. While I don't mind them they do tend to get on my nerves. Mostly when they get dirty, I'm a little anal about that. The other thing is in pictures. Mom mentioned that a few of my photos from the beach (like the only ones I had) that my glasses cut right down over my eyes and really block them. Its true. I often have to move my glasses so my eyes are not covered. Its partially the style and partially just glasses in general. I used to wear contacts, then I got dry eyes. I miss contacts or should I say I miss not having to wear glasses. I've been doing some reading and it seems they may have some new stuff for dry eye people and contacts. I have the Acuve Hydro lenses from years ago (my prescription hasn't really changed) that I paid for but had to stop using. Every once in a while I will take them out and try to wear them for a while. I'm doing that today. I bought rewetting drops to help a bit. But I don't think it will work.

I think I will make an apt with the eye dr. and see if these new contact types can help me. I sure hope so. Though I hope that maybe they have some trial pairs b/c I would hate to pay that much money for them and not be able to wear them again.

Why should I care..........well........I just really like my eyes. People have told me they are pretty, but the truth is, I think they are and I really hate covering them up with glasses. Its a little vain, but its the way I feel. if I can't wear contacts, I live, but it would be nice.

good Choices

And congrats to you guys on all the weight loss around here. Maybe we are all on a roll :D

Have you looked into Lasik? I had it done 8 years ago, and I'm now 20/15. It's the best money I've ever spent!

Brooke, So sorry about your loss my prayers are with you. I have been lurking on this thread for a while now. I like the fact that everyone seems to want to just encourage each other and help each other. I have been struggling with my weight for ever it seems but I have been making process down 17 pounds since May. Good luck to all. Will post again soon.

Thank you t each ne of you for your kind and comforting words. Im still having a few moments, but im more at peace with her death bc i knew she was ready.

I think im back to work tomr. That is if my stomach is feeling better, i think i picked up a bug from my nephew this weekend as he had an upset tummy. Im hoping for just too much rich food and emotional strain.....

I also hope to get back to it tomr. And reverse any damage from this weekend first thing. My Mawmaw would have wanted it that way. She knew my battles bc she lived them too and she always supported me and im sure she will cont. To.

Well, with the cramps gone and food kept down. I decided I needed to back to work or I would end up under too much stress trying to catch up.

Food will be lax today b/c I'm not gonna jump right back into things hard to process for my stomach.

BK: Was oatmeal, that itself might have been brave, but so far, so good

S: I have a serving of crackers.

L: 2 c of brown rice with some butter spray and salt for a mild flavor

S: applesauce

S2: I brought some greek yogurt for the pro biotic nature of it, which I will need to get my system back to normal.

D: It will probably be a baked potato.

I realize this is a lot of carbs, but they are mostly bland and easy, small portions. I'm gonna give myself today and tomr. I will add the protein back in for balance.

PS- I guess it might take a while for my food choices from the weekend to catch up with me (though I don't think I did as bad as I could have let myself), but this morning I was 314. As I didn't weigh this weekend, I don't know if I ever saw 312, but.........life happens.

I will attempt getting back on the bike tonight for a while.

Good choices.

Hope you are feeling better soon! The stomach bug is no fun!!

How did you eye exam turn out? Are you trying contacts?

I'm still on the Boars Head jerk turkey kick. I take a salad for lunch with romaine, the jerk turkey, caesar dressing and 4C grated parmesan cheese. It's wonderful!

I'm getting there. I think grief and stomach bugs make for draining times.

He gave me the Acuve Oasis and I was able to wear them for about 4 hours today. So I suppose they r a no go. He said he might have a few for me to try, but I really don't have much hope at this point. He said Lasik is iffy for me bc of my age, astigmatism, and the stats. I couldn't afford it anyway, lol.

I'm gonna try and add protein back tomr. I will need to go to the store in the morning.

I think I will not exercise for one more evening bc my back is sore, my shoulders heavy, mtg stomach still shivers, and I feel exhausted.

Considering a drink of the day or of the like is $8+ this really isn't a bad deal. Wish they'd do this fleet wide. I know my DH and I would purchase.

Its true. Everyone thinks its a lot of drinks, but it just depends on what you purchase.....maybe beer drinkers can't drink that much to break even....but if you drink fru fru or cocktails...then it works out about right.

I posted this on my roll call:

8.75 cocktail + 15% grat.=10.50

10.50 x 4 drinks a day=$42

$42 x 7 days=$294

So you would just have to drink about 4 cocktail drinks a day to break even.

I'm sorry. I was hoping the dailies would work for you. I have really bad astigmatism and they work great for me (although I need reading glasses when I wear them...old age:(). I went to 3 different doctors for a lasik consultation. In the end, I chickened out. In my head, I know it's safe, but I know a few people who have had to go back repeatedly to get the vision correct and I just didn't like the idea of a laser in my eye. Silly, I know!

Hope you feel better soon!

My DH drinks long island iced teas, so it wouldn't take very many of those for him to get his money's worth! I don't drink as heavily (now, not at all, with doing the low carb), but I do like the bubbly and if I could have a glass of champagne whenever I wanted, that would be great cruise!:) I think we'd do it if it was available on our ship! Now, losing the weight after the cruise from all the bubbly is a different story!!

I was never clear if the 15% gratuity was on the price of the pkg ($42.95) or on each drink. I guess it makes sense it would be on each drink, but when you purchase the wine pkg. they charge the gratuity on the whole pkg, not per bottle. It's confusing.

Either way, it's a good deal the way I see it!!

Okay, I'm getting back to things today. I'm just not going to let my body get pulled down by all the recent events and sickness. I know that exercise will make me produce positive hormones so I need to get back to it and I KNOW it will make me feel better. Its also time to get back to my good eating habits again. So:

BK: I had like 2 bites of oatmeal and decided I didn't want it. I think I got spoiled to having eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, tomatoes for Breakfast in WV every morning. But since those things are really healthy when I went to the store this morning I picked up an Turkey sausage english muffin from Weight Watchers for BK. I will count the 2 bites of oatmeal as a point though. The WW sandwich is 6 points.

S: Apple slices and Turkey Pepperoni

L: 4 oz of fake crab meat with butter spray

1 small tomato

S: Turkey slices and apples (all the pre cut fruit went out of date today at the store, had to buy the pre-packed apple slices)

D: Fajitas

W: I'm gonna do it, but I will shoot for 40 mins and then go from there.

I really just have to get back into my frame of mind and I should be good to go. I'm also taking probiotics to help get my system back in order and I bought some Women's multi vitamins too. On top of that I need to start taking fish oil again.......I got out of the habit.

I'm really hoping to see 312 this week.......but its already the end of the week and I might just have to wait. At least it doesn't seem that I've gained but 1lb from this weekend. Unless its a delayed reaction coming.

313.8 today.

Good choices.

I'm so thrilled I was trying on clothes for our upcoming cruise. And decided just for the hell of it to try on a pair of jeans that my daughter left behind yes these are her fat jeans or I should say her preggo jeans. Anyway the are a junior 12 and OMG they fit I mean they really fit not to tight. I am beside myself with utter joy...HOO WOO... On the down side getting ready to go to the store and do a little stocking up for this storm. And I have no idea what I'm going to buy Its hard enough for me when I am eating carbs. We just really don't do boxed, canned, prossesed foods. This is going to be tough..

Congrats on the weight loss!!! Didn't you just go on a cruise? How was it?

Yes, the storm is a worry. My mom is in Brandon, a suburb of Tampa, so we are keeping an eye on it as well. Yes, it would be hard to know what to stock up on that is not filled with carbs. The only thing I can think of would be stuff like slim jims, beef jerky (never had it, but I guess it's protein and low carb) and laughing cow cheese (I don't think it has to be refrigerated). Good luck.

I do hope everyone stays safe from the storm and I'm not talking about the Republican National Convention, lol. Seriously, I don't have party affiliations and I hope that the storm doesn't happen or is very mild for the sake of everyone.

Wish I had some deer jerky to send your way. Its preserved, high in protein and low in fat......but with most preserved foods........high in sodium. I think that will be the hardest part. You will have to deal with the preserved foods and their sodium content.
