I agree with Dileep - you want starboard for your balcony cabin. BUT you should also plan to arrive early at the Crows Nest for 'rounding Cape Horn as viewing is best high-up front & center. Have fun .... HAL does a great sailing. :):)

We have found that the best viewing is from the open deck.

 

One piece of advice. The seas can be rough. I would place emphasis on getting a cabin that is mid deck.
