  1. Fingers crossed this becomes the new norm rather than the exception.
  2. As a huge fan of ships horns I was glad to see and hear in other videos that QA received a proper large replica Tyfon in addition to her other horns. An impressive voice! Interesting that Cunard have revived the steam effect when it’s been broken for so long on QM2.
  3. With all due respect, please no country! Sorry, JMO, not my thing….. Considering its popularity though I am surprised that it doesn’t have a bigger presence on cruise ships.
  4. The Queens Room is so stark and sparsely decorated and furnished that it will be easily improved if Cunard chooses to respond to the concerns. Not so much in need of “redecorating” as merely decorating to the standard of the rest of the ship.
  5. No apparent effort to force the unwilling into the extra tariff restaurants that I can see. Looks good. Thanks for posting.
  6. Very thorough tour, I like most everything but the extremely spartan and under furnished Queens Room. The contemporary look is generally attractive, far less radical than QE2 was in 1969. Seems like plenty of outdoor spaces topside, including ample shaded areas. Once the service concerns shake out should be worth a try.
  7. Is the elimination of canapés now fleet wide or specific to QA? Are the nuts and potato chips/crisps still offered in Commodore Club? Thanks for any update.
  8. Thanks, excellent information to keep in mind re: “fresh”. Another positive move by HAL, keep them coming!
  9. Ten years ago or so their featured Dutch beer was Grolsch in the bottle with the attached stopper.
  10. Certainly a step in the right direction, why have 150+ years of heritage and then ignore it?
  11. I went to Iguazu prior to my Celebrity Eclipse cruise in January. Booked independently through Ripio Turismo in Buenos Aires, all arrangements were well handled at half the price Celebrity was charging.
  12. With all due respect this seems like an extremely risky and nerve wracking plan with the connections and good fortune required to make it to the ship on time. I hope you can find a way to do one overnight.
  13. Mattress seemed fine, the most heavily worn part of the cabin was the balcony furniture but still fully useable including footstools which may disappear when renovated anyway.
  14. Sadly true and many times the ones served in the specialty restaurants aren’t much better either.
  15. Interestingly the decline in steak houses has been from the low to mid range, i.e. Ponderosa, Bonanza, up to the Outback level. Meanwhile the higher end such as Fleming’s, Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris, etc. have proliferated. None of us are right or wrong in our preferences, in general I think the cruise lines balance fairly well between classics and the au courant.
