wineoclock Posted June 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2014 I need your help please. It's my sisters 25th weding anniversary next year. They want to go to the Far East on a week/ten day long cruise which will also include a land tour which they will sort out themselves. The requirements are luxury, & (after bringing up their own children do not want to travel with other peoples ) so no children, & not a large cruise ship. I've suggested Regent, Crystal & Oceania. Though I know crystal does welcome children so that will probably be a no no. I know that there are probably more which is why I've asked for your help. My children are still young so I'm not certain which would be the best fit for my sister. They are in their late forties if that makes a difference and are non smokers but that's not a deal breaker. Many thanks for your help.
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2014 There is always a chance you will find children on any of the luxury lines. What time of year are you looking at? If it is in the Mid January/February/March or say September thru early December time frame even if there are children on board you are talking about just a handful or less. I would check out Crystal, Seabourn, Regent and Silversea. Come back with questions about itineraries, ships, etc. But don't rule anything out quite yet. orchestrapal Posted June 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2014 Chances are there will be NO children on Oceania and it's a great line with superior food. They will. however, be the babies of the cruise. If they won't mind that they will have a great time on O.
wineoclock Posted June 17, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted June 17, 2014 Thank you so much I will pass the information on. Not sure when they plan on going or whether they mind being the babies of a cruise as long as there are no babies on board! My sister had 3 children under 3 at one point so young children seem to remind her of those times!
wripro Posted June 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2014 It will help you avoid children if you stay away from a seven day cruise. Those are the ones that attract the youngest demographics who bring along kids.
Floridiana Posted July 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Look also into Le Ponant.
wripro Posted July 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Le Ponant is not luxury, It's luxury lite!!!
Texas Tillie Posted July 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Le Ponant is not luxury, It's luxury lite!!! Know that you don't agree, but it is on the list at the top of this page that Cruise Critic considers luxury! :p
wripro Posted July 9, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 9, 2014 I'm sorry. I keep forgetting that this board includes many non luxury lines on its list. My apologies.
