kakalina Posted December 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2005 My favorite one is the couple wandering around the photo shop saying " how do we tell which photos are ours?"
aussiedisneyfan Posted December 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2005 A girl from work asked me about doing washing and commented that the laundry machines would have to be manual ones because there is no power to run them.
smile8115 Posted December 4, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2005 What are some of the funniest questions you've heard about cruising. Like.....What time is the two o'clock tour?.........Does the crew sleep on board the ship?..........Etc...:D Hello. My name is Irene and I've cruised the valor last january. Had a great time--the ship is large and beautiful. A funny question I heard was "does the ship have it's own power generator?" to which the cruise director answered, no, we stretch an extra long extension cord from miami to all the ports." Steamboatin Posted December 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2005 At dinner one of our table mates asked the people at the table what was their longest and shortest cruises. I answered our shortest cruise was about 15 minutes. The time it took the ferry to cross the river.:D
Aliann Posted December 8, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Went on a group cruise with family and friends last year and most had never been on a cruise, their first time. A friend and her daughter went through the entire process of embarkation, followed the line onto the ship and stood there in awe and looked around. Friend said 'Where do we go from here? How do we get on the ship?'
cntrydncr1 Posted July 5, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2006 Of course the classic questions..."Which elevators go to the front of the ship?" And..."What time is the midnight buffet?"
pengu1n Posted July 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2006 What do you do with the beautiful ice carvings after they melt? Is this island completely surrounded by water? Are you sure that our oceanview cabin will be above the waterline of the ship? Why don't inside cabins have a porthole/window? Can I use American currency in Alaska? I want to be on the port side of the ship! (We asked why.) That way I can always see the port! (For those that didn't get this, port is the nautical theme for the left side of the ship, and has nothing to do with which side faces town.) Do you have to leave the ship to take a shore excursion? packercruising Posted July 5, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 5, 2006 There's the ever popular, How high above sea level are we? Uh, what deck are you on? Then there was the lady that called the desk to say she couldn't ge out of her cabin becase there was a do not disturb sign on the door. Seems like every CD has the same jokes. When we were on the Magica, I took to reading the signs. My favorite was on the back of the toilet that said Do Not Flush Whilst Seated. Don't you know somewhere along the way some schmuck actually tried it and broke his arm? :)
sirarthur Posted July 7, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 7, 2006 And then there was the lady who asked her room steward if he had always done this type of work. The steward replied, "No, I used to be a deck hand on a submarine."

BlueJacketsFan1 Posted August 24, 2006 #13 Share Posted August 24, 2006 We heard a women ask the Cruise Director. Is that sea water in the pool? CD: Yes it is. Women: Oh, that explains why there are so many waves.
Mountaineers2 Posted August 24, 2006 #14 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Not a cruise but my favorite was the person who asked our guide at Windsor castle, after hearing a number of jets fly over from nearby Heathrow, why the Queen built her castle so close to an airport. moxie1975 Posted August 31, 2006 #15 Share Posted August 31, 2006 I was on the Explorer of The Seas in December of 01. We were on RCCL's Private Island Labadee. We were some of the last ones to leave the island and we were just lounging in a couple of the hammocs when someone asked "so are you guys on the ship"... HMM No we live here!!! patnjohn Posted October 31, 2006 #19 Share Posted October 31, 2006 I didn't actually hear this on a cruise ship, butI read it on these boards. After the earthquake in Hawaii, someone living there couldn't wait to leave & get back to the "good old USofA".
caribbean dreams Posted October 31, 2006 #20 Share Posted October 31, 2006 I worked at a very well known restaurant in Alaska and we had many cruise ship passengers stop by for lunch, the most common question from them was......Do you live here? I would smile and say "no i fly in everyday to serve lunch" it always would cause a laugh.
addicted2cruises Posted November 1, 2006 #21 Share Posted November 1, 2006 overheard someone in the bathroom in Cozumel asking their friend if they think it is ok to wash their hands because when they were on their ship they were told they should not drink the water in Cozumel
winesfine Posted November 10, 2006 #22 Share Posted November 10, 2006 This one isn't really a question.... The first time we took our kids on a cruise my DH told them not to dive too deep in the pool because when they surface the ship might have left them behind. Kids are soooo gullible. ma_in_ak Posted November 10, 2006 #23 Share Posted November 10, 2006 When I worked at a travel agency years ago, a woman was there to book a cruise. The agent asked her if she preferred an inside or outside cabin and she said "Inside, of course, outside would be too cold at night!" Not cruise related, but another woman was asked for her flight if she wanted a window or aisle seat and she said "Not by the window - I like to get my hair done just before I travel." MrMate Posted November 13, 2006 #25 Share Posted November 13, 2006 As a former 1st officer I have tons of stories about stupid questions asked during bridge tours or other occasions. Sometimes the guests' ignorance is so clear that I feel embarrased for them. One man managed to ask if the Caribbean Sea was salt or freash water. Another man came up to me and asked what time the midnight buffet was. When we officers walked around the ship, the same stuuupid question from some fat, dumb, american with a hillbilly accent came up "Heeeyy, who's driving the boat (not ship).. It is also very amuzing to read the summary of comment cards after every cruise. Some ignorants had a crappy cruise because there were no instructions in how to use the shower. Others managed to write that they'd hated the food in a certain restaurant, and ate there 6 out of 7 nights!
