Best Harbor Tour NYC

Trying to figure out which tour company is going to give us the biggest bang for the buck in the NYC harbor/area?

It seems like there are so many of them with all sorts of options. I just want to see a lot of stuff....like maybe going up past the Intrepid, and/or over on the east side of Manhattan. I am not necessarily interested in a buffet meal or that sort of thing. Good viewing areas on the boat is plus along with being able to hear any narration well.

I've done Circle Line with visitors since I was a kid and they sailed out of Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn back then.

Any tours leave from the New Jersey side?

We will be in New York in November 20th - 24th. Do you think it will be too cold to appreciate the sights? And would it be better to book for a morning cruise when it should be light or late afternoon as the lights come on?

Meant to also ask. Can you book on the day, or does it have to be pre-booked ?
