Teens- Cards on lanyards?

This will be the second cruise for our boys. They were much younger the first time, so we put their sail and sign cards/room keys on lanyards for them.

For teenagers, which is more common....putting the card on a lanyard or just putting it in their pocket?

Could attach it to a belt loop using the clip from a casino lanyard (coil gets tossed). Clip it and put it in the front pocket, using extra jump rings if extra length is needed.

There are a lot of teens that would not be caught dead with a lanyard while others lover them. Ask you teens what they would prefer, but be ready for a change once they see what others on the ship are doing once you get onboard.

Both my kids gave them up in the later teen years, although my daughter found a short lanyard she did use for a few trips that she put around her wrist.

I agree. My kids, particularly my daughter, are in the "not caught dead" group. If your boys have used lanyards in the past and found them convenient, they might want them again. Or they may have reached that age where they think lanyards are just for kids. Best to ASK them!

Thanks for the ideas everyone! My 18 yr old wants to use his lanyard, mostly because he has a new Oakley lanyard that he loves. My 15 yr old wants to put it in his pocket. I don't fully trust him to keep track of it. so I think I'll have him put it on that bungy cord thing from the casino so he can keep it in his pocket, but attach it to his belt loop.

My kids have always used lanyards on cruises. Even now as teens, they are ok with them, now, my kids high school required that they were their school IDs every day on, you guessed it, lanyards, so they have become very comfortable with them.
