cb at sea Posted November 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2009 When I've checked out the cabin, gotten a "foo-foo" frozen drink, called my friends at home and gloated a bit about lying on the pool deck in the sun (while they're in much cooler weather) and then, turn off the phone....I'm acruisin' then!
downsized Posted November 6, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2009 My excitement builds as I see the ship from the cab. Passing through security and then handing over my luggage and standing in line does not dull that, but it all begins when... they hand me the glass of "bubbly"! Everything after that only makes my face hurt from smiling!

hi2you Posted November 7, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 7, 2009 I know I'm cruising when all formalities are complete, ie/lifeboat drill-and being up on deck for sail-away. But better yet, I know I am cruising as soon as my travel agent sent me my ship confirmation papers. Wooooohooooooo - May 15, 2010.

Arizona Laura Posted November 17, 2009 #18 Share Posted November 17, 2009 Sorry all are preliminary events to me until the ship starts moving. Initially you first wonder to yourself " Is the ship moving?" You just are not quite sure at first. When I realize we actually are in motion my cruise has officially commenced. Let the fun begin! dippitydon't Posted November 25, 2009 #21 Share Posted November 25, 2009 Though it isn't always at the start of a cruise, the thing that gives me goosebumps on a cruise is the blast of the ships horn. Nothing like it for us landlocked folks!

AK Wife Posted December 29, 2009 #24 Share Posted December 29, 2009 and I will add: when my bed is turned down and a towel animal is in my cabin, when you hear the "bing-bong" and the CD or Captain comes on to tell you news of the day, and when the most important ID I am carrying is my cruise card! :D March cannot come soon enough!
