U can book things from your cabin TV, from your mobile phone via the iconcierge app or by using the touch screens around the ship. You can also make restaurant bookings from tables set up or at the restaurants themselves.

Keith and Bugsy4271 In addition to all the options Keith has listed, you can book to your heart's content at the NCL website. This was a new process to me, and I'm glad I tried!

I bought a UDP for a cruise coming up soon, and, at the 90-day mark, I was able to go online and book everything from my desktop, including Illusionarium, but the pickings were slim even on the first day they opened up the floodgates, so you have to be fast (get up early!).

I think the restaurant bookings can be done at NCL.com with or without the UDP.

At any rate, Bugsy, NCL will tell you when the booking online starts (90 days or 45 prior to embarkation).

For anyone that has sailed on the Breakaway or Getaway, what changes/improvements do you see with the deck plans of the Escape?

Thanks.

Improved Spice H20 area with the introduction of the grotto (instead of the lame water feature) and tiered seating. Also adding cantilevered hot tubs up on deck 19 (I believe without checking) enhances the deck space available for the general public. Also stacking the pool deck bars rather than having both next to the pool is more convenient for those sitting one deck up and opens some more space for loungers on the pool deck itself. Those are just a few I noticed.

Just booked a B6 for February 2016. I hope the balcony ratio is the same as it is on the Getaway - we love our balcony and spend a lot of time there.

We really wanted another aft, but for whatever reason they have, NCL continues to not allow 4 people in aft balcony rooms.

Oh well, a cruise in any room is a good time away from cold Canadian winters!! :D

The pool deck looks much more open. For now, it appears the area between the two pools might be open space, which it isn't on the BA/GA.

As far as Spice H2O, I haven't seen anything to indicate that the water area is significantly different, just with different decor. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

One thing I really missed on Getaway was the tiered seating that Epic offered. I'm very glad to see that will be on the Escape.

Quite a few changes actually … some small and some large. My comparison is with NORWEGIAN GETAWAY.

1. Haven - it's an extra deck and the pool has a glass dome like on BREAKAWAY. The Haven Restaurant looks to have a lot more windows due to its positioning.

2. Deck 19 Forward - Some hot tubs were added, two for public use, one in The Haven, and one in Vibe (Vibe already has 2 hot tubs on the Breakaway Class).

3. Ropes Course is now three levels and the Aqua Racer Slide replaces The Whip Slide. The mini-golf has a Ninja Turtles theme and gone is the SpongeBob theme at the Kids Aqua Park (sad about that).

4. The Mandara Spa pool area appears much larger and now wraps around to the port side of the ship. The Fitness Center *appears* larger. I hope so because the existing fitness center on the Breakaway Class is way too small.

5. Spice H20 now has the Grotto Theme splash area instead of the more generic waterfalls. I thought the generic waterfalls were fine.

6. It appears that Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville at Sea will replace the Flamingo Bar & Grill. Not sure if this is an improvement and hopefully it will be still be a free food venue.

7. The main pool area is less cluttered as the second pool bar has been stacked above the port side pool bar, so now there is one on Deck 16 and 17. There are two less hot tubs but it looks like they enlarged the two that will remain.

8. There is one additional deck of cabins, but some cabins have been eliminated on other decks. It results in a net increase of approx 300 passengers (double occupancy). Unfortunately no additional elevators have been added to accommodate the increased capacity, but at least the elevators on the Breakaway Class are very efficient. The space ratio actually increases (improves) on the NORWEGIAN ESCAPE, so theoretically the ship should feel more spacious.

9. The Studio Complex now encompasses three decks instead of two. The Studio Lounge is located on the middle deck (Deck 11) and has stairs going to the deck above and below.

10. The Waterfront is enlarged in the forward section with the addition of two new dining venues, The District and Food Republic. This space is cabins on the Breakaway Class.

11. 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar replaces The Grammy Experience; Tobacco Road replaces the Sunset Bar; Cellars replaces The Ice Bar; Tradewinds shop is enlarged and takes over Sugarcane Mojito Bar; Pinchos Tapas Bar replaces Wasabi (sad about that); Bayamo Restaurant replaces Ocean Blue; Sugarcane Mojito Bar replaces The Raw Bar.

12. The main Theater and Box Office looks slightly reconfigured.

13. Skyline Bar replaces Bliss Ultra Lounge & the space occupied by Bar 21 which no longer exists.

14. The Supper Club replaces the Illusionarium.

15. The atrium is slightly reconfigured with the Shore Excursion desk being moved. Although not labeled, I believe the card room and library will remain in the same spaces.

16. The Mixx Bar area looks slightly reconfigured with more curved walls at the entrance to Savor & Taste as opposed to straight walls.

17. Guppies & Splash Academy is moved to Deck five.

18. A lower level (private dining area) and small atrium is added to Taste Restaurant down on Deck 5.

I think that sums it up. If I missed anything please feel free to add it.

Wow! Sounds like many improvements, but one concern....I really like Illusarium, so what does the supper club offer?

The Supper Club will offer a dinner theater style show called For the Record: Dear John Hughes. It's sort of a tribute to all the wonderful 80's movies created by John Hughes. As a product of the 80's, this was my era and I can't wait to see it and relive all those great movies from my youth.

Here is the description from NCL:

We’re serving more than Breakfast at The Supper Club. Spend an evening with a Brain an Athlete, a Princess, a Criminal and a Basketcase at For The Record: Dear John Hughes. This unique 360-degree post-modern cabaret brings the movies to life through their original soundtracks. Immerse yourself in the glorious 1980’s at this feast for the senses. “Twist and Shout” with Ferris, “Try A Little Tenderness” with Ducky and let Jake Ryan light your “Sixteen Candles.” No leg warmers required.

Eroller, fantastic job putting this info together. Many kudos to you and the others on here for the wealth of info. As some on here may know I have had to cancel cruises aboard Breakaway and Getaway due to issues beyond my control and have yet had a chance to experience NCL. This time around it will finally become a reality.

Thanks for getting me really pumped up and excited about sailing on Escape next year :)

No sushi? :( :( :(

I know. Hopefully it will still turn up somewhere. I loved Wasabi on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY. The space becomes Pinchos Tapas Bar on ESCAPE.

Also one thing I forgot to include on the changes is the elimination of Shanghai's Noodle Bar. Looks like this space is taken over by an enlarged casino unless we see it added later.

I never really saw anyone in Shanghai's ... but Wasabi was always crowded! I hope it does turn up!
