kelkel2 Posted February 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2015 I know there are plenty of restaurants in Bayside, but we are looking something a little less chain-y and maybe something a little more local. I mean it can be a chain I guess but something maybe we can't get back home. We like to try things we can't get at home when we are on vacation, so we were hoping to maybe avoid a steakhouse if possible. Is there anything that fits the bill for dinner near the Intercontinental that maybe would be within walking distance or a short taxi ride? We would prefer to walk but are open to taking a taxi if we have to and you say it's worth it :)

There are lots of restaurants there. We love Perricone's, Italian Restaurant. We could fill up on the free bread.
Langoustine Posted February 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2015 If you're in Miami, you really need to go to a Cuban restaurant. I would suggest you take a cab to Versailles or La Carreta (both on SW 8th Street, aka Calle Ocho).

Sea Salt in Naples (excellent restaurant!) sued them and won the case so they had to change their name.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted February 26, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2015 River Oyster is one of my favorite restaurants and you can walk to it. It's always highly rated. I'm here 3 times or more per week. Happy hour is 7 days a week from 4:30 to 7 with 1/2 priced oysters, $3 beers and $5 wines and drinks. Around the end of May they will be moving over by Seaspice. For Italian, Toscana Divino is fantastic and is located in Mary Brickell Village. They also have a great happy hour from 6 to 8.

Will have to check the one out in Naples, next time I'm over on the west coast.

Pia1913 Posted February 26, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 26, 2015 If you do elect to stay at Bayside, Bubba Gumps is interesting. I don't think you have one outside of Chicago.
