Robes/dressing gowns

Do you get a robe/dressing gown supplied in a superior deluxe balcony cabin on the Independence. Wondering whether to pack mine or not, thanks.

Not usually. Robes are given to guests in JS and above staterooms, and Platinum and above C&A level. However, if you ask your stateroom attendant, you may find they some some extra.

If you are a newer cruiser to RCCL or are not in a Junior Suite or higher you will not automatically be given a robe. If you have a light weight robe, pack it. I am eligible for a robe but more than once, when it was not waiting for me in the cabin, I did not get it till the second or third day.

They are large and heavy, so if you prefer something lighter, pack one.

enjoy

officially: only if you are Diamond and up. UNOFFICIALLY: you can ask for one and if they have availability, it will be supplied with no problem.

all suites are suppose dot have them standard( I have a couple that they were not in the closet upon embarkation but appeared later, I assume due to being washed)

PLEASE don't wear them around the ship.

Haha, I only need mine for popping out on to the balcony although I thought I was going to need one to walk off the ship on our last cruise as I mistakingly packed my trousers in my case on the last night, which was then taken off. Luckily our daughter was in the next cabin and I had to squeeze myself into a pair 2 sizes too small.

 I've seen a lot over the years, but (luckily) never anyone who had to walk off the ship in the robe.

Good luck in remembering to keep a pair of slacks out!

I won't ever make that mistake again. We have joked about it over the years we have cruised but never thought it would happen. So lucky our daughter and boyfriend were there as we usually cruise on our own.

I almost did when hubby packed my clothes I had out to leave the ship. I was asleep and he came back from the casino thinking he was doing me a favor. Cabin attendant gave me a pair of shorts and tshirt. He received a very generous tip!!!!

On our recent cruise one couple actually strolled around the the whole ship wearing them, even in the Royal Promenade. It looked very odd. Everyone was staring at them. I did wonder if perhaps their luggage had gone missing, but apparently not :D

Perhaps we have cruised together, was it on the Allure? Every time I've requested a robe, the room steward has brought one within 5 min. In fact, I often exchange them several times during the cruise. The robes occasionally get soiled in the WJ.

I hope you enjoy walking around the ship in your robe.

I don't have a problem if someone is going to or returning from the pool or the spa. Otherwise I agree with you.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the difference where someone is wearing their robe. When you see us in the hallway, what difference does it make where we are going????

You're serious. You really do wear a robe around the ship? I thought that you were joking. I personally think that a robe should only be worn in your cabin, not in public.
