Help: high and middle or low and aft?

I am booking a July cruise and have limited room choices. I am a bit of a nervous Nellie about getting sick and usually book low and middle for the least motion. My choices are only: aft and deck 2 or mid- ship and deck 7. What are people's thoughts on the best choice and the least movement? Higher but mid or lower but aft? (I know it's a cruise, depends on the weather etc. but if more experienced cruisers have found one is better, it would relieve some anxiety on my part so I can enjoy my cruise more!)

It's the carnival sunshine, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Midship is ALWAYS the least motion. Deck 7 is low enough to have even less motion. Take some Bonine with you just in case you somehow get seasick, but really, the midship is always the best choice since it gets the least motion. Most movement will be forward and aft. We have stayed in up to 16th floor and not had any real issues. IMO forward always seems worse than aft. But in your situation I would take the cabin midship 7 and not be worried about motion at all.

Realize that you will NOT be in your room all day long! You're going to be at the pool, restaurants, sports deck, theater, etc.....those places are all OVER the ship!

Mid ship, mid deck is the area of least perceived motion. Think of a see-saw...the fulcrum is where the least motion occurs. BUT...the entire ship does move...it's but a cork, floating on the sea!

Bring medication, just in case!

With that choice I'd go mid and high.

But it depends what motion effects you, is it the side to side or the up and down sea-saw type motion.

What's better for one [out of those two options] may not be for you.

I have always gotten cabins on decks 7 and 8. I found that location very comfortable; great for sleeping. As been posted, you aren't going to spend a lot of waking time in your cabin.

You didn't mention which ship and that plays into the choices as well as aft on Deck 2 on a small ship is quite a bit different than on a larger one.

Without much information, I would personally choose the mid ship cabin.......more convenient to all elevators as one reason and probably quieter because of the engines etc. in the low aft cabin.
