Jelly Firsh

We are going to be in St. Maarten in January, and was wondering if anyone knew if there will be jelly fish in the water that time of year or if they even have jelly fish? We are wanting to try snorkeling, however I am allergic to bee stings and I don't want to take the chance of getting stung by a jelly fish and have the same kind of reaction. The last time I was going to try snorkeling, was a Great Stirrup Cay, in August, and there was so many jelly fish that I wouldn't go in the water at all. :o Thanks in advance!!

Not regularly, but several times we have experienced Jelly Fish on Orient Beach during a visit during September and/or October. Perhaps the warm water had something to do with it.

The Beach Boys and others tossed many of them out of the water using leaf rakes. I was brushed by at least a few, and they weren't the stinging kind, apparently, but they were definitely there.

This has only occured on Orient, during those time frames.
