Royal March 20th

Boarded Royal yesterday with my BVE guest and it was not a pleasant experience. I am not new to BVE and just did the same thing on the Regal in November. But this time the captain circle host refused to allow my Mom and I to board with my friend. She did change her mind when she realized how mobility challenged my friend is as she is recovering from a stroke. But I must say she was very unpleasant about it.

We did end up having a great afternoon but left a really bad impression..

During boarding while arguing with the cc host I tried to call Princess but was informed by Crissy that I had to hang up the phone.

So far everything else has been fantastic. Short wait for anytime dining in the concerto dining room at 6:15. Great dinner. Came out ahead in the casino after a few hours. Hung out at Bellini's and enjoyed the Piazza entertainment for another hour or so.

Lots of rocking and rolling during the night even though we are midship deck 8.

Beautiful morning. And looking forward to a spectacular day. Staying on board today and hope to enjoy some pool time.

ohhhh I so hope this is going to be a ''live from'' thread ;). We haven't been on Princess since 2011 and have mainly sailed their Grand Class. With everything we are reading about the Royal Class, we are beyond excited to be boarding her when you guys return on March 30th. Anything and everything you can share, will be so appreciated. Take care of her ;p

She didn't refuse my friend. She refused to allow us to board with her. Part of the bon voyage experience is sharing the Princess experience with your guests.

We just got off the Royal and did the BVE. There were 7 of us and had no problems at all. The host was very accommodating. Not our first BVE also. How large was your group? Also were there other groups doing the BVE? There were only 2 groups when we boarded.

We sailed. Our guest stayed with us till about 2pm. We lunched in the dinning room and toured the ship on our own.

Pretty sure she was CC host. Tall redhead. She was nice to us.

However, my sister and husband earned Platinum status with this cruise and should have received the paperwork and pin at the end of the cruise. They didn't get anything. I thought that was her responsibility.

Maybe the procedure has changed--but I seem to remember getting our pin on the cruise after we earned the next level.

Yeah, it was in our cabin on the last night. Not that big a deal for us.

Lousy weather today. Retreat pool and sanctuary closed. Everyone inside. Kinda chaotic. Hopefully tomorrow will be better in st. Thomas.

You are right assert it.. Plus your friend is mobility challenged at that.

What was she thinking. Sometimes a little power goes to there heads. I'm happy everything turned out OK.
