Is an 11:50am departure from FLL reasonable?

Hi all,

We're sailing on RCCL in October and I'm looking at flights. There is one that leaves FLL at 11:50, and everything I've read has said that flights after 11am should be good to go. I just want to make sure that is still the case.

We're traveling with three kids so things naturally move a bit slower for us. In addition, the other half likes to be at the airport two hours early. Can we make it through customs and to the airport with 3 kids by 9:50am on a Saturday?

Thanks!!

Edited to add... next flight out is at 3pm. It's not that much later though it is a bit more expensive. What's the latest we could get off the ship if we decided to take our time?

Assuming you are docking in Port Everglades, yes, what you have read is correct. 11:50 is doable.

Most people take cabs to assure plenty of time.

You need to check on the RCI board as to their policy, but most want you off the ship by 9:30.

The luggage valet program can cut the stress if you're running late or the lines or long. Found this to be 100% worth it, especially out of FLL. When we left FLL, there were several large ships in port, with everyone disembarking during roughly the same time of day. Our terminal was PACKED, and there was an ice storm somewhere in the country that caused a bunch of flights and connections to be cancelled. So everyone that had to check-in at the desk or check luggage had insanely long lines because there were people in front of them that were trying to reschedule on different flights. Since we used the luggage valet, we were able to go straight to the insanely long security line.
