Which NCL Ship next & Why (in 2017)

Love NCL - Part of my bucket List is to cruise every NCL ship.

So far we have been on:

Star - Alaska

Jewel - New England/Canada

Spirit - Caribbean

Epic - Caribbean

Sky - Bahamas

Jewel again - Alaska

Getaway - Caribbean

Gem - Caribbean (Booked for Nov. 2016)

Which ship and where to in 2017?

That is in 2 years why worry about that now? Loyalty is great in life sometimes but tiring your self to one line is not good. I go with the best bang for the buck.

Escape or Getaway to the Caribbean

Jade whenever it does a tranaltanic

Dawn to Bermuda when its in Boston or whatever it sails to when its in New Orleans

Pearl to Panama Canal or when it does a charter

Sun to Mexican Riviera or South America

Pride of America because Pride of America and Hawaii

Bliss to anywhere it goes when it debuts

Breakaway to Bermuda or any of its 14 day+ trips

If we sail NCL in 2017, choice of ship would be either the Pearl (Panama Canal) or the Gem. :)

We're booked on the Star Feb 2017 for the 19 day Auckland NZ to Singapore cruise. This is a major bucket list item for our best friends and cruising buddies.

19 days - 9 ports LOL not so sure I'll be getting off the ship for Komodo but the view from the ship will be beautiful. Four of us will again be sharing an SJ family suite in exactly the stateroom we wanted. We are considering flying to Honolulu, spending at least a day there to break up the long flight and then on to Auckland for a couple days pre cruise touring.

CRUISE PORTS Embark Auckland (New Zealand); Bay of Islands (New Zealand); Sydney (Australia); Brisbane (Australia); Airlie Beach (Australia); Cairns (Australia); Darwin (Australia); Komodo (Indonesia); Bali (Benoa) (Indonesia); Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang) (Malaysia); Disembark Singapore (Singapore)

We are considering flying to Honolulu, spending at least a day there and then on to Auckland for a couple days precruise touring. I'd really love to do the Sydney to Auckland cruise either on the Star or the Celebrity Solstice in addition to this cruise but decided against booking at this time. The suites on the 12 day are almost all sold out and the price went up considerably on the remaining SJ suites.

Why wait???. Cruise all the new ships your friends will be asking about. Cruise the Breakaway and Escape in 2016, then the Bliss in 2017. How could it get any better?

Stayed in a SJ on the Star they are great cabins. Hoping they would have put something like that on one of the "Away" ships.

That is an awesome item for the bucket list! Of course, I say that because I had the same item on my bucket list. :D

The trick for me was to remember that the goal was the ships...not the itineraries. So I'd recommend simply looking at what ships you haven't sailed on (Sun, Dawn, Pearl, Jade, PoA, Breakaway, and Escape) and pick the one that offers the best bang for your buck. If the Jade is still making seasonal cruises stateside, you may want to consider that to save on overseas airfare.

If you want to cruise them all you might want to go older ones first, the Sun is fun, then it should dawn on you which one is next.

The DH and I are hoping for a good cruise in July 2017. No plans yet as we are waiting for all the new information which comes out later this year. It will be a Happy Anniversary for us no matter where we chose.
