Taxi Downtown hotels (Bayside area)

I'm looking to book a downtown hotel...I have narrowed it down to:

1. Hilton Miami Downtown

2. Holiday Inn, Port of Miami

3. Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay

4. Hyatt Regency Miami

5. Courtyard Marriott downtown/Brickell area

We just wanted to be near some restaurants and shopping that didn't require a cab to get there.

My question is this...for budget planning purposes, can you share how much you have paid in taxi fare from the Miami airport to these hotels and then from the hotels to the port? Just an approximate so I have an idea? Thanks in advance!

I occasionally stay at the Doubletree, next door to the Marriott, and depending upon traffic the cab fare from MIA tends to be $25-28+tip. It should be in that range for just about all downtown Miami hotels.

The other posters are spot on with the cab fares.

I would also say to throw Intercontinental (which can be gotten at a great price on LMT) as well as the Hampton Inn Brickell to the mix. They are also in great walking distances to restaurants and will be around the same price for cabs.

The other posters are right about taxi fare.

Time of day and traffic will determine precise price.

Look at three others.

Hampton Inn ( I would go with this one over hotels such as Holiday Inn and Courtyard. Personally, I would avoid the Courtyard)

Intercontinental as mentioned earlier.

Marriott on Brickell (closer to Mary Brickell which has nicer restaurants that Bayside and about a 20 minute walk to Bayside)

Marriott Marquis.

Thanks for your help...the Intercontinental was about $30 more a night and the Hampton Inn was about $50 more a night. The ones I listed were within $10 to $20 of each other.
