Dancing emphasis?

Costa, by far the only cruise line which offers a reliable experience, totally different from what you will find on an American ship. Cunard I can't recommend based on my personal experience, but I'm told the music is vastly improved recently. Crystal also has good floors, but my experience was poor music and worse management attitude. Princess was even worse.

Are you looking for dance groups or are you willing to take your chances solo?

Thanks for the replies. I enjoy East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Nightclub 2 Step, Rumba, and others. I am an average dancer but I can appreciate a good dancefloor.

I had to look up Modern Jive and Ceroc as mentioned in some replies. They seem fun. Thanks for the introduction.

Dancer Bob...I'm aware of some small local dance groups that sometimes organize cruises but if I'm missing out on some larger groups I'd be happy to learn about them.

Again, thanks for the replies. They are helpful.

Stardust Dance which is based in New York and normally does weekends in the Catskills, is doing two cruises this winter (on Costa). They've had some CA groups in the past but they may be sold out by now. If you belong to USA Dance, check out American Dancer for some other ads.

There are several specialists, who can get a bit pricey, but offer more personal service sometimes also female dance hosts/teachers. Not sure which ones I can name on CC.

West Coast Swing is just starting to take off over here. It seems to basically be Ceroc with some extra steps thrown in. I like what I've seen of it!

We failed miserably to find any Modern Jive venues when we were in florida a couple of years back.

I'm an intermediate dancer but a cruising novice. Are there any lines or ships that, because of their facilities or activities, are favored by those who dance?

Charlie

SLO, CA

Carnival has all of the dances. The Dougie, Tootsie Roll, Harlem Shake, Whip/Nae Nae, etc.
