Royal Suite Class program - Roll Out Date?

Recommended Posts

Good to know it's not just me, lol. I was thinking the same thing about sharing the same genie. Which suite are you in? We are in the Royal Loft suite.

Lisa

We're in the Owner's Loft Suite (1701), so it is very likely we may have the same genie.

Tom - have you gotten an email from your genie yet? Being in the GLS, the 3 of us may be in the same boat. (ha, see what I did there? boat!...ok, I'm going home now.)

We also have not gotten anything besides the Loop email. I have not tried to contact them via the messenger since I'm sure they're busy with it being their first week. Hoping to hear something by tomorrow...I'd like to know if I should give our luggage to the porters and a few other logistics. I'll let you know when we get an email, but as some have already gotten theirs, I have a suspicion that we may be sharing the same genie.

We didn't get the letter from the Genie either. Just the loop email and letter from the concierge which we've already discussed. I sent a message to the Genie about 22 hours ago and didn't hear back. Let us know when you've tried.

We are in a Sky Loft Suite (1718) and did get the Loop email and the Genie email. Our Genie is Israel. I did respond to his email with some requests yesterday, but have yet to hear back from him. This being their first sailing with customers, the Genies are probably quite busy.

I'd definitely agree that their first week is quite a busy one. My "plan" was to wait until Wednesday or so to hear via email and then use the messenger to handle anything that can't be done Day 1.

BTW - I've heard from quite a few people that Israel was fantastic as a concierge so many were very excited to see him as a genie!

We figured they were busy also, particularly on an embarkation day. That's why I haven't sent a follow-up. We're in the GLS across from Nicole and Chris. We're looking forward to meeting you!

I know they are very busy this week, but this is killing me. I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for Santa to come. This whole genie thing is so exciting!! I look forward to meeting everyone as well.

Maybe I missed something, but where did you see these were not allowed? I hadn't heard Royal restricted them. Carnival has restricted anything in bottles, even bottled water and soda, but I hadn't heard Royal did.

This is a quote from right here on CC.

Most cruise lines prohibit passengers from bringing beer and liquor onboard, but do let you bring a bottle or two of wine or Champagne. Some lines (such as Norwegian) also let you bring a reasonable amount of nonalcoholic drinks onboard -- which helps save on pricey shipboard sodas and bottled waters. Royal Caribbean passengers are prohibited from bringing any nonalcoholic beverages onboard, while Carnival only allows limited amounts of soda and juice as long as the drinks are in cans or cartons (and not glass containers

I received a reply from my genie on Loop. Her name is Smitha Judoobur. I had just said that I had some questions and she said she would be delighted to answer them. I asked her what to do with our luggage when we arrive to the port and I also asked if we can order from Giovanni's or Coastal Kitchen for dinner in our suite one night. I will post her response when I receive it.

I think you will find that there are many, many posts on CC were people have successfully taken on water and soda.

I think as the first Oasis Class, Sky Class Cruisers report back many of these questions will be answered. I can't wait to find them out as well. :)

You're very welcome. I've been a long time lurker but don't post very much so I figure it's the least I can do to pay back the wealth of information I have learned on these boards. I have enjoyed all of your reviews Andrew, especially the one of the Royal Loft suite. I can't wait to see it in person!!

Thanks for the kind words Florida Keys Cruiser. Each review was fun to do, and the one relating to the RLS was bittersweet. It is quite the cabin, if you can really call it that. I know you will enjoy it.:)

We received the first contact email from our Genie a few hours ago. We have the same Genie (Smitha). She hasn't responded to my loop text from yesterday. It may be a timing issue if you've heard from her. I'll give her another try.

Just received a response from loop. Margret responded but said she was assisting my official genie who is also Smitha (so looks like RLS, OLS and GLS will be sharing). She suggested we not arrive until noon to expedite luggage. We're normally the people who are waiting to board and show up around 10:30...debating what time to arrive given her comments, despite staying at the ritz I'm sure we'll be itching to get onboard!

Haven't received the initial email as of yet.

Heh... I know exactly what you mean. Telling us not to arrive until noon would be like telling a greyhound dog not to chase the rabbit until the second lap around. :D Come embarkation day, our entire morning revolves around getting to the ship as early as we can.

We'd be there at 10:30 checking in. It's called Day One for a reason. :D

EXACTLY! I don't mind waiting in the terminal and usually use the time pouring over the cruise compass and basically being a giddy little kid waiting for us to board. By the time we board and have lunch (usually at Park Cafe), our cabins have been ready. I never really 'got' why some waited until the last moment to board. By the time muster rolls arounds, I've unpacked, gotten settled, and am ready to really start enjoying myself. We'll see...I got a second comment from Smitha this time urging us to wait a little bit to board. Which I guess is why the cabins will be ready when we arrive...I was secretly wondering how cabins would be ready if I arrived at the pier at 10am :D

We haven't received the email yet either but I did receive this response from my Loop message:

Good Evening Lisa, Welcome to the Oasis of the Seas. I am honored that you have selected Royal Caribbean International’s Star Class for your cruise vacation. My name is Smitha and I am your Royal Genie. I'm looking forward to meeting you on the 7th of May. In the meantime, I'm here to answer your questions, understand your "must-do's" and gather information that will allow me to provide you with extraordinary service. For the luggage, I would recommend keeping them with you until you meet our Terminal Genie Services who will provide porter assistance for the suitcases to come onboard along with you. I will be delighted to book the Hibachi for 5 persons on Saturday at 07h00pm and would love to organize further dinner reservations according to your preferences. You can order room service from Giovanni's Table and Coastal Kitchen if you wish for an in-suite dining at any night convenient to you. I will send you an e-mail tomorrow with a list of items that should be left at home to help with your pre-cruise preparation. Please do not hesitate to contact me by email or through loop for any query. Many Thanks, Your Royal Genie Smitha

I too was planning to arrive at 10:30. She hasn't told me yet to arrive later so we will see. Maybe they want the three of us to arrive at different times so she can escort us on separately??

I got a response to an email sent my our Genie, Israel, letting me know he had scheduled dining for us on Saturday and Sunday, a massage for my wife, as well as a couple of other small requests.

He asked that we arrive at 11:30A - perhaps the Genies are trying to schedule the arrival of their respective guests in a manner that lets them personally handle each one? That would make sense to me. He did say to hold on to our luggage instead of giving it to the porters, noting that the pier staff would know what to do we told them we were star class...
