Travelcat2 Posted September 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2012 Go to the Reception Desk onboard. Or, if you booked your cruise with an Amex Platinum card, they include a galley tour.
Portolan Posted September 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2012 How can we arrange a tour of the galley on our upcoming Mariner cruise??Sharon When you board, just stop at the registration desk and tell them you'd like a galley tour. We've never been on a Regent cruise where a tour wasn't offered, but equally, we've never been on one where they made the fact public (like in the daily program). They likely won't know when it will be offered right at the start, but they've always been at times which didn't conflict with shore tours (like on a day at sea or after the boarding time for a port). xrvlcruiser Posted September 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2012 The affinity groups - Virtuoso, Ensemble, Signature - usually sponsor tours as well.
EAGLESLOVER Posted October 1, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks to you all. CC posters have been so helpful to this Regent newbie. TC2: we used out platinum card but not an Amex agency. Is that good enough. Thanks again Sharon
Travelcat2 Posted October 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks to you all. CC posters have been so helpful to this Regent newbie. TC2: we used out platinum card but not an Amex agency. Is that good enough. Thanks again Sharon The agency does not matter -- what matters is that you use the "branded" Amex card (as opposed to, for instance, a Costco Amex card). When you pay for a Regent cruise with the platinum card you also receive a $300 OBC. The downside of the card is that it costs about $450/year. It does give you access to many airport lounges and we have purchased things with the points we receive from using the card. The galley tour is really interesting and definitely worth doing:)
ChatKat in Ca. Posted October 1, 2012 #7 Share Posted October 1, 2012 It's not automatic for AMEX Platnium any more; But ask at Reception when you board otherwise you might miss it.
Travelcat2 Posted October 1, 2012 #8 Share Posted October 1, 2012 It was automatic in May but I suppose it doesn't hurt to check.

mythologist Posted October 6, 2012 #11 Share Posted October 6, 2012 I enjoyed the galley tour I did back on the PG. I understand why, but am saddened that they can no longer offer the bridge tours. They were even more fun.
xrvlcruiser Posted October 16, 2012 #12 Share Posted October 16, 2012 I spoke to the F&B manager last week on the Navigator (I know, you want to do this on the Mariner) and confirmed that you'll need to go to Reception to ask to arrange a Galley tour. There is NO charge.
