Parking in Galveston

We are within driving distance of Galveston. Just wondered what to do with our car while we will be on a 7 day cruise. Haven't been down there before, so not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

Call a few of the hotels near by. Ask for the drive - N - Fly or Park - N - Fly

rates. DO NOT CALL the 800 corp # as they will normally be clueless... Call

the front desk and ask about the rate.

I find it to be cheaper often to stay there vs pay for parking at the port.

I've used both EZ Cruise and Lighthouse parking and have been very pleased with both. They have a shuttle that runs from the parking lot to the cruise terminal. It's very quick and easy. The shuttle is always there when you get home too, to take you back to your car. The parking lot is fenced in and we've never had a problem, nor heard of one. I'd recommend either one.

We're using Lighthouse. If you book online, you get $5 off, too (several lots offer an online discount!)

Are you spending the night before in a hotel? The Comfort Suites charges $20 per room to leave your car for a 7 day. That's awesome for us because we will drive 2 cars down, and they charge per room and not per car.

I have used EZ twice and love them. Never used Lighthouse, but have parked at the cruise terminal for a wedding.

We've used EZ Cruise parking many times & had no problems. It's also just a couple of blocks from the terminal so I always drop off our luggage and my wife stays there while I go park and just walk back over to the terminal. Usually faster than waiting on a shuttle.

have used EZ cruise parking 3 or 4 times with no issues. have already pre-arranged parking there for our cruise in July.

We always use EZ Parking and we are always satisfied using them. I just drop everyone off with our luggage, go park and catch the shuttle back to the terminal.

My DD is using www.galvestonparkncruise.com this weekend. They are a bit cheaper than others, but do not offer a shuttle, but are within walking distance.

Texas Greeneyes ~ Great list, thanks for sharing. We will be in Galveston next April for a cruise on the Voyager and your information is very helpful.

Just to report back...we did use Lighthouse Parking. It was pretty painless getting to the ship. The only thing I wish I had known was that when disembarking, the Lighthouse bus is way at the end to the left when you come out of the cruise terminal. It was parked behind an EZ bus, so we didn't see it until it left with 3 people aboard. The next one came right away, though. Would definitely use them again.

We recommend Lighthouse Parking.

Make sure to make an advance reservation to ensure you get a spot and you will also save a few bucks!

Great list. I would just add that it is only a $10-$15 taxi fare from any hotel to the terminal. This is per taxi cost not per person. I think the shuttle is per person. We asked the desk to have a taxi for us at 10 AM. It is easy to get a taxi back to your hotel from the pier.

I used discount parking last time because it was $5 cheaper than EZCruise ... and they also have a free shuttle, so why not save $5. They are the one across from Howard Johnson's and had only used their shuttle the time before and parked at the hotel.

5 day cruise $40.00. Not sure what a 7 day is.

We use lighthouse. We like that we can load all our luggage on their shuttle and go to the terminal (together with our luggage) vs. having to drop the luggage and then go park and then ride in a shuttle.

We do not split our party until we are on the ship :)
