Give the pecan pie some love!

Just been reading a few food threads and see lots of discussion on how bitter and blanc and WCMC are wonderful and how the baked alaska and pumpkin pie are horrible.

However I never see anyone mention my favourite Carnival MDR dessert....the pecan pie!

Anyone else love this dessert or is it just me?

Yes, Yes, with vanilla ice cream. :)

Never had it on any of my cruises but pecan pie is my favorite. Now I must try it next time.

I do not ever remember seeing pecan pie on the menu. :( :mad: And I love pecan pie.

That sure looks like a good pecan pie. Hopefully it is on the regular MDR menu and not just on the new American Table menu.

I like the Baked Alaska!! Had it on the Fascination and it was great..

Thanks for the heads up on the pecan pie. Cruising next weekend and will add it to my to-do list.

Pecan pie is from the old menus and not new American ones.

With the replies I am now wondering if it is only on 12/longer day menus? I thought Carnival might mix up the menus and offer different ones on 7 days but maybe not. Its called 'Southern style pecan pie' and apparently it has 'a hint of orange'.

As Zydeco's website shows we had it on day 5 and it was on the same menu as duck pot stickers, Cornish hen and chocolate and hazelnut tart (obv they mix menus up sometimes but you never know).

Dont remember seeing it on any of my Carnival cruises both short or long.

If on the menu would definitely make it to my plate.

I too can't remember seeing it... for if I had, I would have most certainly got it (and with the ice cream too :)) .... now you have me thinking of this plus getting the sundaes for dessert at dinner.

I am wondering if this is on the holiday menu for thanksgiving or Christmas?

Never saw this as an option either! Will definitely try if it shows up on a menu. It's one of DH's favorites.

15 cruises and have never seen pecan pie. Not even on the 15 day Hawaii cruise. I haven't had the new American Table menus though. Desserts on the ship are seriously lacking ...in flavor for most of them anyway. It works out for me since it saves calories lol

actually, I think the desserts on the buffet for lunch are better than the ones for dinner. Much more variety

I had it last year on my 12 day Baltics last August so it definitely isn't the new american menu or a christmas/thanksgiving thing.

Surely they wouldn't have it just for European sailings?

Certainly on 12 day or longer cruises. European, Transatlantic, Transpacific, Hawaii...

Don't think there have been any long cruises with the American Table yet.

I don't recall seeing it on our Hawaii cruise either.

American table has a pie each night but two times we have seen this menu, pecan pies were not offered.

I don't recall seeing Pecan pie on any of my cruises, but I sure would like to see it going forward!

I've never seen it on the menu but if it were, my husband would definitely order it. And then he would tell me that my pecan pie is better. (He's a very smart man.)
