NCL CAS Golden Tier

Just became Golden Status on my last cruise 2 weeks ago. I was told that I would get $100 food and beverage credit and a spa credit on my next cruise. I know the time frame for determining tiers runs from April - March, so does that mean I would only get those freebies if I cruised prior to April 1st, 2017?

If it does carry over past April 1st, would that perk apply to all cruises taken in the upcoming year or is it a one time only deal. Thanks

You will be golden from now until March 31, 2018. For every cruise between now and then you receive:

$100 Food/Beverage credit

$125 Spa credit

3% money fee (Always check your bill at the end because I have had to fix mine on the last morning of the cruise)

1 pack of cigarettes a day in the casino

Canned soda

Upgraded beverages in the casino (Absolut, Ketel 1 etc).

This is not to say that these perks won't change but this is what they are now.

Thanks so much for the information. I always find your responses to questions to be helpful and accurate. Happy Holidays to you.:)

Your very welcome, Happy holidays to you too, I am spending New Years on the Breakaway. I can't wait, I hope the casino is kind to me.

I am also Golden so I will let you know if any of the perks have changed since I sailed in September though I doubt they will change until the new period starts because of the grief they received for changing perks mid year a couple of years ago.

Canned soda? Do you just request at the casino bar?

I've been Golden the past two years but there are always new things to learn. Thanks!

Yes, just do not order the "Cherry Pepsi", they brought me a can of Pepsi & a glass full of maraschino cherries. Haha

You can order it at the bar or through a waiter/waitress, They will always say when looking at your room key (when they go to scan it) "Canned soda is not included in the UBP" just show your Golden card at the same time and say it comes with this card and you will be fine. After the first day, 2nd day tops you will not have to show your Golden card at all. I also always grab 2 cans before going to my room at night.

You will know me in the casino because I am walking around with either a beer or a can of Pepsi at all times :)

Is there somewhere ( on ncl site) I can see what HOt status gets ? Does it get a voucher for food as well? Thanks

Yes hot gets $75.00 food credit but no spa credit. It also gets you a house drink card. The other things listed are strawberries or candy sent to your room, nothing to get to excited about. I usually pass that stuff over to my neighbors on either side of me.

Also the birthday gifts range from a photo and a folio (You pick which you like) from the photo gallery or wine or nice robes.

Is the birthday gift only if you are cruising that week?

I believe so but if it is a different week when you make your reservation let CAS know you will be celebrating your birthday. I always cruise my birthday week except for next year because the BA is on a charter and I hate the Canada route on the Gem.

Thanks! Now that we are retired and cruising 4 times each year I have so much to learn. Never thought I would be Golden, but it's been pretty easy to earn now. If it wasn't for Cruise Critic, I would still be waiting for CET to give me certificates instead of calling CAS direct.

I love this forum:D

Well any questions you may have just ask away. I also admin a casino at sea page that cannot be mentioned here so you can always hit me up there also.

I cruised last year on my birthday and never was offered a comped photo. Cruising again in late January during my birthday and didn't bother mentioning to the CAS rep that it was my birthday cruise. Wondering if I should call CAS or just let the casino host know.

F you don't get a birthday card in your cabin, I would casually mention to the on board host "hey,,, it's my birthday and I usually get a card and gift from the casino,,, didn't get one this year".
