Hi Sharon -

For those of us who didn't get the message, what are the events? I'm specifically interested in the May 3rd event, since we sail with the QM2 on that date.

Thanks for any info...

Today I received an email inviting me to any of the four Cunard 175 land events. I've booked for 3 May. Anyone else going to these?

We'll be on the QV that day but we've been toying with the idea of the 24th May one although I don't know how we would get into Liverpool with all the traffic that day. It's going to be chaos.

I think it's only for those who get an invite email from Cunard. It's in aid of the Prince's Trust.

3rd May is a reception and lunch.

21st May is at Greenock - afternoon tea.

24th May is 3 course lunch.

4th July is two concerts with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

At all four of them? So fortunate to receive invitations to all four!

No restrictions on the number you can attend as far as I can see from the email. However, the minimum suggested donations [to The Prince's Trust] might make one or two think twice about attending all four.

I'll be there.

That is pretty amazing that you will be there Cunard's Queen after all the recent posts you have made showing Cunard in not such a good light. :) I would have thought you would be more than happy to stay away. :D

Perhaps it will be a late evening sailing? It would allow embarking passengers to attend one of the concerts and for a fireworks display.

Having been to Liverpool only once - when QM2 called there - it will be a wonderful event for the city. (British citizens seem to be so much more aware of their history that we are of ours.) In 2011 ships only made calls there but the greeting that welcomed us showed how very proud they were of their maritime heritage. The Cunard Buiding's survival with iits architectural features intact - decades after the line vacated it - is just one example.

Received my invitation for the Southampton QM2 Lunch for 3rd May . I am not likely to accept as I will be retuning from the last leg of the World Cruise on Queen Victoria anyway. But is nice to know that when the 3 Queens sail in together that morning that I could have gone for a reception and lunch on QM2. May do one of the other ones though as have been invited to all.

QuipMC the timings are:-

What's included:

Complimentary refreshments in the terminal and free parking

Champagne reception in the Queens Room

Three-course lunch in the Britannia Restaurant (inclusive of wine and coffee)

Draft schedule of the event:

9:45 guests arrival for registration and check-in

Cunard may be going through a downward spiral at an exceedingly quicker rate than I would like but I still will always love my precious Cunard. I still sail Cunard and my feelings to the brand would not keep me away from such a historic event.

Sorry but Ray66 is right - only those who received the email can book. It may also have gone to those booked on any the 175 voyages as I will be on QV 22nd May.

And the fact that they are rather spread around the country, it's nice that Cunard are doing something for those who find it difficult to get to Southampton.
